it’s like this. Club have been confident but even forgetting them, I spoke to someone close to James yesterday who said it will “100% get done” (his words not mine, just so we’re clear). It’s been hanging that way since last week. Question now is whether it’ll actually go through

So wheres the transfer request then bud? What you say is just spin isn't it? The bit you are missing out is 'Wants to leave as we won't offer him a new contract because we want him to go'.

I heard the same about the contract, G. But then I checked it out a bit more. And a bit more. And, sadly, I don't believe that to be the case. He's said, clearly, that he wants to go. As rubbish as that is to hear. The wider picture is a shower of shit, I agree.

Daniel James has told Swansea’s owners he wants to leave. His move to Leeds would initially be on loan, then permanent if Leeds are promoted.
Loan fee of around £2m, then a permanent transfer potentially worth more than £10m with add-ons.

Swansea want to keep him but feel they can’t now James has told them he wants to leave. If Leeds miss out on promotion, Swansea would take him back after his loan and try getting him to sign a new contract - but that look unlikely. | |

18 months left on the contract of a 21 year old who is a good impact sub.
Who'd be moaning about the club if we offered him a 5 year deal (meaningless) and tripled his wages then saw little or no progress or a players laid low with similar injuries that afflict many fast players (e.g. Montero).
If James doesn't want to go he won't.
If James does want to go there is little the club can do to prevent it.
