So how embarrassed are you that having a ground that once held nearly 60,000 you only ever got a fraction over 50k twice in your history and that was in the era of winning these cups/league and big clubs could ‘pull in’ twice your average attendance? Besides the big boys, Charlton ‘pulled in’ over 75,000, Bolton, Sheff Utd, Huddersfield, WBA, Blackburn all had crowds in the 60,000s. Hull, Burnley, Boro, Palace and Cov got bigger crowds than you.

Can't believe I'm contributing to this nonsense, but who gives a fvck about attendances anyway? If we (or any other club) was to suddenly increase their stadium capacity by 10,000, all that'd achieve is accommodating another 10,000 plastics. It's not as though clubs have hoards of loyal, decent fans that can't get in nowadays.
It's almost as mongy as judging a club's stature by the amount of followers it has on Twitter. | |
