Seriously what is going on in this World at the moment, you just cannot move for people arched looking at that silly piece of tech.
People just don't 'communicate' anymore, it's really sad. At what point does this level out and people start rebelling? All the kids now are scared of their own shadow, they're growing up without the ability to socialise in the true sense.
There's nothing wrong with technology in moderation but things are getting out of hand for me. It's all too easy now.
Peace

Well yes of course... I've spoken about this many times with people face to face and I'm not saying I'm completely without guilt. I'm raising the issue.
I'm not talking about going back to dark ages anyway. My point is that when in the gym, pub, street, stadium anywhere people just are addicted to their phones.
Read an article in the I newspaper in which one of the journalists spoke about how he was on hols and found that he could barely finish a book without checking 'updates' on internet. Where as at one time he would have finished 3 books he could barely finish one.
There is an issue here surely.
Peace

Was with someone earlier and with a clear effort he put the phone away. Then it kept beeping and you could see he was dying to look, but knew it would send me into orbit. Then as soon as I got up to go to the bogs, my arse had hardly left the chair and he was staring at the stupid screen. Hopefully it will stop all wars eventually as people will just be staring at their phones, stupefied by Facebook and similar shit.
My phone makes phone calls. that's what it does. Only when it's turned on, about once a week or when I need to make a call out of the house, which is actually never.
I'm appalled that I am the last generation that will know the utter simple joy of leaving work at 5pm and no one being able to get hold of you until you got back in the office. Similarly wives when you left the house.
It's all bollocks, and in 50 years will be identified as a source of brain tumours or mental illness, after being hushed up by the vested interests. Nailed on.
I know Rockin, sorry, couldn't resist. Do agree with you.
I'm a marathon runner and the amount of fuss people make when in any race they're banned for using their MP3s. 'I can't run without it'. Apart from the Health and Safety aspect where you can't hear the Steward's instructions, you miss out on all the atmosphere of the day.

Was at a restaurant last weekend, table alongside us hunched over their table and didn't utter a word all night. Scoffed loads of food, top class restaurant clearly didn't enjoy it, just tapping away.
Lost for words.

Yes, and no one had the patience to sit down and enjoy anything anymore. It has to be instantaneous.
Couple that in with social media and evaluating your whole life against everyone else's highlight reels and it can't be good for mental health like you say.

Also...something that gets my goat are people that go to a concert and are more interested in filming the event than actually experiencing the atmosphere in reality. Vast numbers of tiny little screens all pointing towards the artist from behind. Get a life toolkits.
Unfortunately for some it's taken over their lives,so much so they simply couldn't function without it,that's how dependant some are. Society is definitely changing, especially the way we communicate, but I don't get this get with it argument, yes there is a time and a place for mobile communication, but you can't beat a good old face to face chat. And don't get me started on those knobs who persist in driving with a mobile strapped to their ears or on speaker phone like that's any better. Saw a bloke the other day walking down the street,I swear he didn't lift his head once as he walked towards me,but somehow missed every pothole lamppost and litter him in the process,I mean what the fvck is so important that you can't leave it alone for 5 minutes, nah, just p!sees me off.

Ahh i hate selfies i just don't see the point? Photos are for remembering moments or a copy of an interesting or beautiful you've seen. All these millennials will only have thousands of pictures of themselves from an upward angle mostly pulling the pout face, which is another fad i'm bamboozled by!. I'm 30 by the way so not far off the millennial age either.
I blame all these reality tv shows that promote being stupid and self indulgent...... im going off topic here
