His mind must be on rumoured transfer to the scum, he has had a nightmare game today

It was a difficult game for him for sure. In a amped up game where we just had to get into Chelseas face, outfield players adrenalin and nervous energy can be taken out on other players, the ball, the ref, and spread out in the game. for keepers i think its more concentrated on smaller parts of the game..like goal kicks!
Thats my excuse for Green anyway.

The thing is same as he'll be remembered by England supporters for the game against usa. He's put himself in rangers folklore for that. He didn't leave his line all game. I'd go McCarthy now.

I wont blame him if we go down but that was unforgivable. As Parker and Neil said he was kicking shite all afternoon and is known for it.Why can't he just practise it, train the weakness out of his game. Its not a hard skill ffs.I'm not asking him to learn how to ball juggle or nutmeg oncoming forwards.Just lightly drop the ball onto your kicking boot foot and hoof it in a straight line with distance up the pitch. Or hoof the slowly trickling ball coming back at you up the pitch in a straight line not constantly fade it out to the right like a sliced golf drive. Has he got weak ankles or what ?
Like I said I wont be blaming him for relegation but I'll be more than happy if we are left with McArthey as first choice whatever div we are in.

Remember jim Leighton in the cup final. Fergie was ruthless no room for sentiment. He's been paid royally for 3 years.

What has Jim Leighton got to do with QPR?

He made a massive mistake in the cup final and was dropped for the replay. Same as should happen to green imo.

It's heart breaking but it only cost us one point. We still need to win the West Ham, Newcastle, Leicester games. No real change for me. The team is performing and working hard. It's a sucker punch but like Holloway said, it's the losses to Hull that will define our season, not a loss to the champions.

That point would have done wonders for morale.

Didn't seem to affect their keeper though did it?

While it is undoubtedly true that Green has played well this season and saved us quite a few times, it is also true that he absolutely fúcked up a simple kick out of his hands and cost us the draw we so deserved yesterday.
And for me that's more than one point dropped. This is like the Cantona goal all those years ago. Although the point we would've gained yesterday wouldn't have kept us up by itself, the belief that would've come with it might have given us enough to get over the line. This'll have destroyed any positivity in the camp and we don't even have a game to set things straight next week.

Still seething of West London.

Shit but local

Yeah it's hard to argue about the psychic damage caused by that goal. Like I said on the match thread, Ramsey's reaction is telling.

Looking at it dispassionately after a good night's sleep,it was a horrendous mistake which somehow you could see coming. If a midfielder had squared a pass 10 yards out and the opposition intercepted and scored everyone would be wailing and digging out the perpetrator.
We should really have taken those chances.Matty Philips isn't a striker, the turn was nice but the placement was poor. The Charlie Austin drive deserved better and the melee in the box second half should have resulted in a goal. That's what happens when you don't have a sniffer - Vargas may have done better. But speculation is pointles,as was the fixture,it's X The Unknown that cost us that game, injuries and sheer damned luck(or lack of it).The "big" clubs waft along on a sea of good fortune,we matched them punch for punch(and don't let any biased journalist tell you any different)but had that mole appear to trip us up when everything was going quite smoothly.

And that's the difference between one of the best keepers in the world and ...Robert Green,England's 4th best keeper and QPR 's No 1.

I was dreading looking at LFW today because I knew Green would cop a ton of flak. Actually, I am pleased to say, there is a lot more support than I had expected, and rightly so. Judging by some of the unreasonable comments here, anyone who has not seen the goal would think Green put the ball on the penalty spot for Fabregas to roll it into an unguarded net while our keeper when to get a pie.

To kick things off, could someone please send me a list of footballers who don't make mistakes? I'll then forward it to Ramsey, he should be made aware of such players Get real people!

OK, so it was a very poor kick but the rest of the team switched off for a split second then did a very poor job of stopping the Chelsea attack. I play the occasional competitive 11 a side game, always as one of the back four, and defenders - and the midfield too for that matter - always need to be ready for a duff goal kick. You have to stay switched on. That's basic stuff.

Also, Fabregas was not being marked properly when he scored. That can't be Green's fault.

That was a costly defeat, obviously, but as others have said, there are plenty of other reasons why we are likley to go down, not least losing to Hull twice when well placed. If Rio had stopped Chester heading in in the home game, we'd have an extra point, for starters and so on...

It's very easy to make one person the scapegoat but it's rarely a single individual who is to blame. Mbia got dog's abuse for the Wigan game due to his late foul but some people forget that just before the fatal free kick, Mackie failed to keep the ball in the corner and Hill blasted a free kick straight back to Wigan rather than ensuring we kept the ball.

Which is all well and good but for the fact that Green is not a top level keeper.

He was dodgy enough and weak enough in the Championship.

If the club award him a new contract then I abandon all hope of Foney Tony and his gang turning over a new leaf.

Get shot. Now.

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Green can be superb IF he is involved in the game, yesterday nothing to do lazy kickout, lacks concentration hopefully will be part of the clear out in the summer but think he has another year on his contract.

I cant agree with the assertion that he is not a top level keeper. This debate comes around every so often. His kicking from time to time will be a bit suspect and in fairness it was an awful kick that lead to the ATTACK that then lead to the goal, but Isla was just as culpable for being asleep when the kick was taken, the entire defense were as culpable for not defending that attack more effectively and for not shutting out Fabregas coming in to the box. 4-5 players culpable but everyone only remembers the up and under that got caught in the wind and Green has got us relegated.

Add up the number of points he has personally won us with his heroics from time to time - but we can't because they don't get remembered for very long.

Yes, I screamed my bollox off at him at the time and called him every name under the sun for a few seconds, but when heading out of SAR I heard the loft singing "Greeno" as he crouched in his area and it made me realize, you can't blame him alone for their goal.

Problem is ,McCarthy in my opinion looked suspect in the Sheffield United fa cup game and hasn't managed to knock Green off No1 spot. Is he a better option?

Don't know if he carries some sort of injury from the past but, played from his hands, he looks like he's compensating when completing the kick.

The double whammy is, if we had players who were more comfortable with the ball, he wouldn't have to kick, he could throw it out.

Rob Green on 13:47 - Apr 13 with 1747 viewsthemodfather

green had nothing to do, not a save
he sliced one kick, COS NO QPR DROPPED BACK FOR IT, THEY HID..so he hoofed it, badly, yet we got back and didn't clear....isla was not looking at the ball, oscar was...
many felt a mistake would be costly and it was, we are bottom 3 and have been most of the season, we were playing a top euro side, like it or not.
one mistake settled it....if we cut out the errors we would be mid table we aren't

The annoying habit of using the continental kick round the corner type of clearance. To get distance against the wind - and he had time to do it - was to put the ball on the deck and then hoof it.He'd done it before in the game so why did he chose to do the punt?

To be fair to the defence they'd played gallantly all game. 2 mins to go against the champs elect we're desperate for points, the ball in the keepers hand, its going long. As all our balls from the defence did all game.
Its a one in a million mistake but one that'll be remembered for years.
