Why stop at Clarke? Maybe Moyes would like the job as Monk's assistant.

If he thought anything of the club he won't accept.
I am in shock!!!

That's nice dear.

You can think what you want - and 'u r a t w a t' is evidence of a deep thinker I'm sure - but I KNOW you're a tw*t, based on your past, present AND future postings.

After today's performance they should have had re-think, he hasn't inspired confidence at all, some of the other games have been poor too, even the ones we've won. The squad seems in disharmony as well, half of them can't be arsed or want out I think.

We should have better aspirations than just staying up, we did in our first two seasons in the league.

As I've said previously, this is a make or break decision for some on the board, if this backfires spectacularly, heads should roll. Every appointment is a risk, but there is risk and then there's rolling the dice because you're feeling confident.

Good luck to you Garry Monk, by gosh you're going to need it.

Rightly or wrongly they obviously think its the right decision and what the club needs right now. Whatever we think of the decision you can be assured that its not a decision nafe just because they feel confident.

Confident enough not to bother interviewing anyone else in world football...

Bonkers mental.

Hardly surprising when they are held in disdain by our senior 'British' pro's.

May I say? what a smashing blouse you have on!

I agree it seems crazy mot to consider all options, but its s decision made with the best interests of the club at heart - even if it may or may not be proven to be the wrong one.

What assurances are those then? Smacks of complacency and taking a huge gamble because it's worked out well in the past. At least they can go on their hols two weeks quicker now.

I ripped my season ticket up as soon as I got into the ground today as a form of protest.

I believe that there are serious shortcomings for directors of a Premier League club to be so limited in their approach to recruiting a manager in the toughest league in the world.

Questions need to be asked of the decision making, but its all so cwtchy and comfortable that I can't imagine anyone making that challenge. What's the Trust up to these days?

Do you honestly believe that they are?

Garry offered two year contract on 23:53 - May 3 with 1346 viewsquiff

If the above is true it's a serious lack of ambition and foresight by the board in the first ever time/ season where they've repeatedly got things wrong.

Having said that, the reason I'm venting my spleen here is because if this story rings true I am 100% behind Monk as the manager of our team from this point forward.

Congratulations on the job offer Garry.
Assuming you decide to accept it, BEST OF LUCK, and please give careful consideration to recruiting an experienced old head as an advisor/mentor eg. Alan Curbishley.

Yeah it goes without saying that many people will not agree with the decision, however to say that people want him to fail is ridiculous.

There's a huge difference between saying that you don't think he's the right man for the job and actively wanting him to fail.

I'm not convinced it's the right decision but there is definitely logic behind it and I can't think of anyone I'd rather see making a good fist of this job than Garry Monk

I suggested bringing Alan Curbishley in weeks if not months ago and I was as usual universally disagreed with.
