Dunne off? on 08:31 - Feb 4 by PlanetHonneywood | Ultimately, these are 29 pages of our LFW lives that we'll never get back. |
Rumour has it that the length of contract to be offered will be correlated to the number of pages this thread reaches. EDIT: Ooops, that's taken it to 30! [Post edited 4 Feb 15:24]

Dunne off? on 06:26 - Feb 4 by Wilkinswatercarrier | Just woken up. Did we do 28 pages on something that didn't happen ? 🤣 Personally I think we should have sold, but he's a Ranger until the end of the season so hopefully he doesn't get grief. Pretty sure he won't in the ground, social media on the other hand....... My personal favourite was someone tweeting that he should fck off to Sheffield and they hope he does his ACL in his first game. The mentality of some people. |
Wasn't yourself that said that Wilkins, was it ??? You said we should move on Field, Smyth, Cook and Dunne. All bang average, I remember you saying !!! That would have gone down well... Replacing them with Madsens and Celars available...... [Post edited 4 Feb 16:27]

Dunne off? on 15:09 - Feb 4 by W7Ranger | What's a bigger risk? 27 year old Dunne on a 4 year contract? Or 24 year old CB from a champ/league 1 club (that we might have to buy?) on a 3 year contract? [Post edited 4 Feb 16:20]

They're both a risk. All signings are a risk. See 'Richard Ord'.

Then we'll never sign anyone if you're worried about "what if's" all the time.

That's kind of my point and I'm not the one who's worried. I think the point is that people should be a bit more understanding/trusting about the signings that are made and not dissect them to atomic level. Speculation is OK but it's just that. In reality we simply do not know. Don't bother quoting click-bait websites as a source, they're just speculative too.

The forum thread titled "Dunne off?" on the Loft For Words website discusses the potential departure of QPR defender Jimmy Dunne amid interest from Sheffield United. Participants express a range of opinions on the matter. Some members believe that if Dunne is unwilling to sign a new contract, the club should consider selling him to secure a transfer fee, rather than risk losing him for free when his contract expires. This perspective emphasizes the importance of prudent financial management for the club. Others argue that Dunne's commitment and passion for QPR make him an invaluable asset, suggesting that the club should make every effort to retain him, even if it means offering a more substantial contract. They highlight his significant contributions on the field and his positive influence in the dressing room. There is also skepticism about the reliability of transfer rumors, with some forum members suggesting that reports linking Dunne to other clubs may be speculative or tactics to expedite contract negotiations. Additionally, the thread touches upon the challenges of replacing key players, referencing past instances where the club struggled to find suitable replacements after selling important squad members. Overall, the discussion reflects a balance between the desire to retain a dedicated player and the need for strategic financial decisions to ensure the club's long-term stability. This is in no way personally aimed at you Eastside R and I know you are in no way alone on this. But it is this short term vision that has us - and will keep us - a mid-table (at best) Championship club for the foreseeable future. It can never be about the player, it has to be about the club, if we are serious about moving forward. I have some faith in our CEO that he won't allow Jimmy to leave for free and a new contract will be announced in due course. I hope so, or this is a very bad deal for the club.
