At least with a traditional world cup most players get a break but having it mid season means every player not at the WC still has to train properly time to keep fitness up. |

Well it's not just about the temperature though how many Europeans play every game at over 20 degrees (and every 3 days or so) and possibly as high as 28? It's also about the lack of a break, even ordinary working schmo's get holidays
The thing about a squad is ( I thought you understood football) the manager/coach wants to play his best team whenever he can so some players will only get 5-6 appearances while others will play virtually every game.

Money is important in football and i understand money . It is better and cheaper for Swansea city to subsidize 500 Swansea fans going Leeds rather than 4000 Leeds fans coming to Swansea (some of whom live in Swansea) . It is 12 year old maths. | |

Of course the manager wants to pick the best 11 and play them as much as possible. It is also his fault if they run out of gas at the business end of the season. In my opinion this is bad management.
Money is important in football and i understand money . It is better and cheaper for Swansea city to subsidize 500 Swansea fans going Leeds rather than 4000 Leeds fans coming to Swansea (some of whom live in Swansea) . It is 12 year old maths. |

it's not about helping Leeds fans, it's about helping swansea fans.
There were never going to be 4000 Leeds fans in our away end because it ony holds 2,100.
PS, the average December temp in Doha is 69.5F so i undercooked it a bit but they did have air conditioned stadia.
Most European football isn't played at those temps, in Spain where it's warmer they kick off at 20.00 or later don't tney, so it's cooler? But again, the players deserve a break, they are not robots. | | | |
