January Transfer Thread 13:27 - Dec 23 with 97312 viewsKeithHaynes

Done some asking and Oli McBurnie is most certainly up for a loan back to the UK this window. I’ve been told four Championship clubs are interested. This will all fall on the fee’s involved plus he is on in the region of €36,000 a week. Big numbers but we know how these things can be negotiated.

Do we have the money ?
Yes.

P&S will need to be positive and only the club really know where we are with that at this moment in time, It won’t be massively healthy. Oli has played fourteen games for Las Palmas this season with no return. He has never been a prolific striker, but could he settle into Luke’s team ?

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

I like Luke Cuddle, tidy and efficient midfielder but more of an holding player rather than an attacking option.....reminds me a lot of Tom Carroll.
If he was coming in to replace Joe Allen or Fulton then I would be happy to see that but didn't see him as an attacking midfielder. I don't think he brings that creativity or goalscoring ability to make a difference in the final 3rd.

If as I read, we are after an attacking midfielder and a winger then they need to be lads who can bring goal contributions and goals, I always look around a minimum of 7/8 goals over a 30/40 game period in these types of positions.

You’ve got a bit more time with Fulton in a Swans shirt 🫣

He isn't a bad player but certainly frustrating.
Every time he plays, he is in the team that has Grimes alongside him. I would like to see him in a team that doesn't have Grimes and we might see better from him........or probably not 😂

Fulton is awful, next time we play, just watch him, he runs around like a headless chicken, never anywhere near the ball, always getting in others players way, when he does get the ball he makes that safe pass, then doesn't move into space, he has gone backwards at a massive rate, whoever sanctioned the extension to his contract wants hanging, drawing and quartering.

I scratch my head wondering how on earth other clubs can afford to buy in the way they do. Especially ‘that lot’ who seem to be able to afford much more even though their crowds are minuscule every week. Apparently it has something to do with Tan absorbing the debt personally and writing it off. How that works, God only knows.

Of course, you are right but we need to be more clever possibly in how we do business and maybe there are ‘back doors’ to this whole FFP issue we’ve not exploited due to lack of experience. I’ve no idea really but your bottom line is on point.

Well it seems that those with a sugar daddies who is able to absorb any losses is the loophole around FFP or PSR, that loophole door needs to be slammed shut, how can you have a level playing field with clubs with sugar daddies undermining the whole process.

The club needs to employ an out and out experienced Football Administrator who knows the British game inside out and who knows how to play the system around FFP and PSR, there must be ways and means around some of it, someone of Trevor's ilk would be the answer.

good morning one and all and i hope EVERYONE is safe re this latest storm?
To date this window has followed countless windows since L & K gtook over, like thousands of other Swansea supporters I was ( and to a point still am) hoped for a MAJOR changed in the transfer department, every one and their dog can see the many areas in the first team that need improvement and was hoping the new people whilst not going completly over board would take steps to at least improve the squad with 2 to 4 new guys, and am still hoping with 11 days to go this could still happen, unfortanatly the new people led by the same chairman do not seem to have grasped the nettle , it could be a number of reasons i know but the fan base is leaving in droves as there seems to be no change from the last lot and that in itself reduces finances and for me unless ambition is shown along with leadership and some investment we could be back to div 4 attendances very soon
The Swansea fan base has shown loyalty and still does but they need to see some sort of ambition from the board as none to joe public seems to be about does it?

He can’t be that happy to be here because he’s not used the words “buzzing to get started”. Of course, given that he’s been injured this season and not played, he may never get started. Oh well!

The club is in a dire state, 8 years of clueless thinking by those without the knowledge experience the drove the proper football away from the club cause they thought they knew better.

To raise the profile and most importantly the value of any Football Club they need a successful team to produce a better product, but the ripped it apart instead, unforgivable!

Serious question. If the gates drop by 30% next season, which is entirely feasible at the current rates and season ticket holders don't renew. What will the new investors do, stick or twist.
