Jordy Clasie To Miss Spurs Game
Saturday, 24th Dec 2016 10:50

Saints midfielder Jordy Clasie has picked up a groin injury and won't feature on Wednesday evening against Tottenham Hotspur.

Claude Puel has announced that Jordy Clasie wont be able to play against Spurs after picking up a groin injury.

“It’s a pity that Clasie has a groin pain and this is a difficulty for us,"

“It’s important to keep all the players with a good fit and to pass all these games with a good spirit, good fit and good results. This is not new for us.

Asked how long he will be without the Dutch international, Puel said:

“I don’t know for the moment Perhaps around ten days. I hope."

“He come back in his last game with a good level, a good possibility and he can make progress with his control in front, with possibility to shoot.”

This will be a blow for Saints, Clasie has been starting show that he is Clasie by name and Classy by nature recently, however the centre of the midfield is one that Saints are well stocked up on and the return of Oriol Romeu from suspension will ease the blow.

Hopefully Clasie will be ready to return in the New Year and fit for the League Cup game against Liverpool at St St Mary's, a game we will need everyone fit and ready for.

Shame as JC has finally started to find his feet at this level. But agree that with Romeu available again it should be unfortunate more than a major issue.
