Saints Set To Change Kit Suppliers Again Thursday, 14th Jan 2016 22:49 Saints are being reported as being in talks with an alternative kit supplier to Adidas for next season, read on to find out who.
Saints are allegedly in talks with American company Under Armour to replace Adidas as kit supplier for 2016/17.
Under Armour are renowned for their sporting equipment and clothing and have started to branch out into the European football market although Tottenham Hotspur are the only Premier League team currently being kitted out by the company.
Saints are being reported to be on the verge of closing a deal with Under Armour which could be part of the club's plan's to branch into the Northern American market more as recently hinted at by Chairman Ralph Krueger.
Hopefully Saints will keep to the heritage of red & white stripes, Krueger is aware of brand imaging and so hopefully that will be the case, the red & white stripes are an integral part of our hstory and are recognisable as our home kit all over the World by football fans.
Many fans will be disappointed to leave Adidas, the German company is not only instantly recognisable and a true fashion icon, but also produces good quality replica kits and traing gear.

Adidas kits are too common and bland. Glad to see us ditching them tbh. I'd love to go back to Hummel but Under Armour will hopefully offer something unique (given no one else bar Spurs have them in the Prem). Sash or panel kits please (just not the tyre print sash the Spuds have!).

Adidas kits have become cheap looking Templates. I think the best we have had since the Hummel/Patrick days are def Umbro.

I think the Adidas kit of 2 years ago was bland, I think this year though the striped kit s our best for a few years all things being taken into account

I'm not surp rised we are leaving Adidas, especially with the well documented kit dispute last season and the poor excuses given by Adidas for their inability to design/provide. I do like their clobber though. Perhaps we can use this opportunity as an established Prem side, to negotiate a kit deal that is more on par with other clubs. Now I know we are not a Chelsea / Man U / Arsenal, but I feel that we are sold so short when their kit deals are announced (not sponsors on those shirts, that's a different story). Not that keen on these tight fitting shirts, that were designed to avoid shirt pulling, which Under Armour seem to go with, so for me, I would prefer a design from Puma or Nike. Anyway, didn't our Skate Mates have an Under Armour kit 6-8 years back ? Think they must have put them off the UK market for a while and they have only just started to re-enter !! :o)

Like many have said, Adidas, particularly the away kits-not only of Saints but others as well-are bland. The crests are just cheap one-color stamps. It looks like a crap iron-on you did at home. Keep the stripes and the blue away, and get rid of that nauseating green-have you noticed how many teams have that color as their away kit this year? None of whom, like Saints have ever had it in their team colors. Adidas are cutting corners on production, but not sale price, assuming fans will pay for any old crap.

Does it matter who supplies the kit. Surely a kit manufacturer would make the kit to the design and quality ordered by the Saints. Or am I missing something?

Blogs 31 bloggersKnees-up Mother Brown #19 by wessex_exile February, and the U’s enter the most pivotal month of the season. Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? Arsenal Polls |
