Lee Trundle says that leaving Swansea would be the worst thing that could happen to him

The Swansea City striker is due to know next week what will happen to his future with the Swans yet to publically announce whether they want to keep the on loan striker on or not.

But Trundle himself knows exactly what he wants and told the Evening Post "Leaving now would be the worst thing that could happen to me

"I made a choice to leave Swansea last time. It was a football decision and it was about playing at the highest level possible.

"But I realise now that once you leave a club, it's not always the same.

"Swansea is where I enjoy my football and where I enjoy my life.

"I feel comfortable in my life here and that helps you do well on the pitch, as does the relationship I have with the Swansea fans.

"It was my choice to go last time, but if the choice ever came up again I wouldn't leave because I realise now how much being in Swansea helps my game and helps me relax.

"It's about feeling at home.

"I honestly haven't thought about what I'll do if Swansea don't want me," Trundle added.

"I haven't got anything in the pipeline and I haven't spoken to anyone else — that's been the last thing on my mind.

"I have just been trying to focus on Swansea and hopefully I can have an impact in the two Christmas games." Whether he features against Reading on Boxing Day or Palace on Monday — and however he fares — Trundle could not have done much more to convince Sousa that he is worth a longer deal.

He tops the Swansea scoring charts despite the fact that he has made only one start — when the team were struggling at Preston back in September — and eight substitute appearances.

"If I do end up going, I will have no regrets because I know in my heart that I have done all I can," he said.

"I have worked hard off the pitch. I've scored a few goals — I've been pleased with how many I've got when you look how much time I've spent on the pitch.

"I think the way the gaffer has used me has worked so hopefully I've done enough."
