| Forum Thread | THANKYOU FA, SHORT FOR FK ALL AS PER USUAL at 20:02 12 Nov 2014
Yes many thanks for our festive fixtures this year. I can't wait to travel to scunny on Boxing Day. What fkn nonsense. Then, like some stupid afterthought, we have a home game just 2 days later on Sunday! Izzit me? |
| Forum Thread | REFEREE TODAY at 19:06 18 Oct 2014
Some replies to posts below about booing the ref off the pitch, defy belief. He was appalling in his bias, and is probably celebrating Gills equalizer right now. Even KH got very animated towards him on several occasions. Allowing Gills to get away with chopping/kicking out, and shirt pulling, whilst blowing up for even a hint of a Dale infringement, especially in the 2nd half, is one thing. Then halting play instantly when a Gill hit the floor and played out the dying swan routine, upset the rhythm of the game. Iddleston did all he could to help Gills get the equalise they did not deserve. I hope that KH makes an official complaint. |
| Forum Thread | SHOT SHY at 21:12 30 Aug 2014
Why are we so reluctant to have a go even with a half chance? Several times today we were in a position to hit the fkn ball goalwards, but then passed to a player in a worse position, like pass the fkn parcel? A shocking example was in the 2nd half when a perfect short cross landed on the head of an unmarked player only 4 yards out with only the keeper to beat. What did he do? Headed it back across the box and saw it easily cleared. So frustrating to see that. Our set pieces are never seen as half chances either, although TK did have a couple of direct strikes. |
| Forum Thread | Fleetwood at 20:26 6 Jun 2014
I would have liked to reply to some of the messages below about Fleetwood, but lost the will to live, trying to find a simple "REPLY" tab? I am getting old, but this should NOT be difficult! Certainly Fleetwood are benefiting from some big, if not bottomless pits, which we don't have. And this news about their new training ground must be fantastic for them. Also interesting is how Hilly viewed Barnsleys training facilities. I visited Bolton's training facilities near Chorley this week, and could not believe them! Cricket pitch and 5 star hotel! But nothing seems to be the be all and end all, as a formula for success, in the entire football league, even Chelsea! However this is no bad thing as it keeps the door open for any Club to achieve some success in their own way Even levels of support offer no guarantees of success also. EG, Look at Leeds and Bolton and many Yorkshire Clubs, and others struggling on big gates. So let's take heart and appreciate the magic that Keith Hill has brought back to the Dale, and in so doing demonstrating that success comes when the Manager/fans and Directors produce a formula that works, without big money and big crowds. |
| Forum Thread | Just a little word of thanks at 18:48 28 Apr 2014
To the Cheltenham fans who lingered after the final whistle to stand and clap witnessing our celebrations etc. Well done and thank you. |
| Forum Thread | THAT BLOODY STIGMA? at 20:17 26 Apr 2014
"The least performing club in the history of the football league" Remember that? Well they will have to find some other club now for that mantle. Especially if we finish top and thereby get a TROPHY? |
| Forum Thread | PRESSURE THIS WEEKEND at 20:00 24 Apr 2014
Fortunately out of the top 4 we have the least pressure, in terms of opposition needing to win. Hope it helps, but "it's a funny old game". 1) Dale. v Cheltenham who have nothing to gain except pride. And we are at home for the last home game of a wonderful season. 2) Scunny. v Exeter who remain in the relegation dog fight, needing points for real safety, and Exeter are at home. 3) Chesterfield. v Burton who are safe in the playoffs and would need snooker scores and 2 wins to get to automatic. And Chesterfield are at home. 4) Fleetwood. v Southend, who cannot get to automatic but safely in playoffs. And the Cod army are at home. |
| Forum Thread | MESSAGE BOARD at 18:44 3 Apr 2014
Note ickle fleetwoods big message board on their tiny ground. Very effective. LED brightness. These cost c £18000. My Company would be willing to contribute in return for advertising/sponsorship etc. I wonder how many other Rochdale Companies would be prepared to do the same? Over to the RAFC Commercial Dept. |
| Forum Thread | FLEETWOOD at 21:06 27 Mar 2014
I want to go to Fleetwood on Saturday with 3 family members. I am now informed that this game has become "All ticket" for Dale fans with a c1400 allocation. So tomorrow early doors I will make my way to the ticket office at Dale, but I'm lead to believe that I will have little chance? If this remains true, then shame on Fleetwood and we need to chant "NON-LEAGUE, and you know you are". |
| Forum Thread | MY TAKE ON LAST SATURDAY at 19:37 3 Mar 2014
1) Enjoyed fantastic result and crowd numbers. 2) Very well matched sides struggled for some domination. And it weren't that pretty to watch? but of course we had no choice. 3) The only difference was Hogan. Without him we would have drawn. Realism. 4) Vincenti played wide? Even taking some corners? Not his strength. Should be ever in the box? We will bury bury on Friday. |
| Forum Thread | BURY BURNLEY and LEEDS at 19:53 24 Feb 2014
I have friends who support these, and in turn because they are good friends, I follow their results. Now I appreciate that this is just another sympton of older years? Who could not wish these Clubs well? I must say that out of the 3, and only because ROB attacks us on any opportunity and has done for many years, I question Bury's survival prospects in real terms. Can they come back from their poor financials, and points on the board, and contrary to what robshaker may think, I hope they do. Dale have a great debt-free promotion chase and Bury don't. Bury have a great past, and Dale don't. But the present is all Dale's at the mo. So come on Rob, bury the hatchet, and give us some credit, unless your cup of vitriol has not yet run out, and you wish to entertain us further. |
| Forum Thread | CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE. at 19:35 24 Feb 2014
I would like to send a tribute to the Ground Staff, for managing to keep games on and maintaining the pitch in wonderful condition through this awfully wet winter. |
| Forum Thread | FIXTURES. at 18:53 18 Jan 2014
We have to go to Chesterfield on Tuesday. Then play again the following Tuesday, after what will be a toughie against the Wendies, though accepted, that we were not expected to come this far in the FA cup. We have 3 midweek games in January, the worst month of the year for postponements, and we had none in September? Utter FA rollocks. |
| Forum Thread | The damned Utd tonight at 22:40 4 Dec 2013
Totally exposed by the absence of Ferguson again. Now condemned with this result at home to Everton, to mid table and Everton were basically allowed to dominate the game. Never would have happened under Ferguson''s watch. Woeful in defence, and always on the backfoot. I wonder when the owners patience will run out, and when Ferguson will be brought back from retirement, as there is no one else? |
| Forum Thread | The usually Fk All Cup? at 22:28 4 Dec 2013
Friends. Please forgive me my ageing years etc. But, I can't find any info on this site to tell me if we are still in the Fk All Cup or not? Merry Christmas everybody on here. And don't forget to leave The Christ bit out. |
| Forum Thread | NO GAMES at 20:41 11 Sep 2013
I CAN UNDERSTAND THE LACK OF RECENT FIXTURES DUE TO INTERNATIONALS AND EUROPE ETC BUT. NO MIDWEEK FIXTURES FOR THE LOWER LEAGUES BEGGARS THE QUESTION? AS IN, WHILST THE WEATHER IS FAIR ETC WHY DO WE NOT HAVE A FULL MIDWEEK PROGRAMME, TO DEFLECT CANCELLED GAMES WHICH WILL INEVITABLY COME ABOUT IN THE DEEP MIDWINTER. NOT ROCKET SCIENCE? |
| Forum Thread | SOME THOUGHTS at 19:49 6 Mar 2013
I DO THINK THAT THE BOARD SHOULD BE HELD TO ACCOUNT FOR OUR CURRENT SITUATION. SO MANY MISTAKES AND POOR APPOINTMENTS SINCE HILLCROFT LEFT. 1) EYRE. NO EXPERIENCE AND IT SHOWED. 2)THEN FLITCROFT EXPRESSED AN INTEREST IN THE JOB AND DUNPHY TURNED HIM DOWN. 3) BEECH. A SHORT TERM FIX THAT WASN'T. 4) COLEMAN. HAD ENOUGH GAMES LEFT TO KEEP US IN LG 1 WHEN APPOINTED . BUT FAILED AND THUS FAILED AT THE FIRST HURDLE. WENT ON TO BE MEDIOCRE AT BEST IN LG 2.PREDICTABLE. 4) MAKING NO MONEY AVAILABLE TO STRENGTHEN THE SQUAD. NO CHANGE THERE. AND NOW WE ARE LOOKING SOUTH INSTEAD OF NORTH, BEING ONLY 6 POINTS FROM SAFETY, AND IF HILL'S RUN CONTINUES IT WON'T BE LONG? |
| Forum Thread | Turners etc at 20:10 15 Feb 2013
I worked there on student hols in the late 60s when it was a vibrant economic powerhouse. I was under Mr Strong, the export Director. But this latest fire reminds me of other ex factories in Rochdale such as another job I had as sales correspondent with Dexine Rubber Ltd, off Spotland Rd. This mysteriously burned down a couple of years ago, following a change of ownership. May I be forgiven for thinking that when Property Companies buy these lemons, and then find that there is so much negative legislation in terms of what they could do with them the buildings become the subject of insurance claims? |
| Forum Thread | COLEMANS CONTRACT. SACK NOW OR GIVE HIM ANOTHER 12 MONTHS. at 21:33 21 Jan 2013
Seemple. Rolling 12 month contract. No costly payout. Hope it's Hill on another 12 month rolling contract. and I think he's on a winner with the players here. He will hone and make some changes but will inherit a team capable of being "the best side to visit Bradford" this season? (Quote from reliable source). I think if it's him we should make him most welcome as fans. Think the players will. Get the home gate back up. We don't want the Championship, so forget the 7 year plan. Just give us football to watch, AND a Club to be proud of at our level. |
| Forum Thread | BRAVE DECISION NEEDED NOW. at 20:20 5 Jan 2013
As Coleman's annual contract falls about now, would the board consider asking Hill back ? There are many who would not want this, but in reality he remains our best ever manager, currently out of work, and with serious dissent taking hold of season ticket holders and justified diminishing home support, this is an option to at least try. Of course Hill may not be interested, but then again I don't think he will get many other olive branches as his career lies in ruins at present. It would be interesting if someone could organise an online vote, and I think the "ayes" would have it? |
