He is only a shot-stopper. Not a goalkeeper.
Had Coalman been able to see that, and replaced him early on Dale
would have been in the top six now. Lillis cost us many points because
of his problem judging when to come out and when to stay on his
goal-line.
The new manager will have to solve the goalkeeping problem ASAP
or Dale will continue to have defence problems. A decent keeper
gives the defence confidence. Something that has been sadly missing. | | | |

Lillis had proved a decent enough keeper on his loan spell and when he joined us permanently I can't remember anyone moaning - on the contrary people were pleased. I think he has been a victim of a poor defense to some extent. I could see him upping his game with new management and tactics.
Anyway, Ben Smith is supposed to be ok isn't he? We should give him a go whilst Lillis has a bit of a break. |  | | |
