Atmosphere yesterday 06:52 - Nov 3 with 1510 views | loftboy | Until the Red card, for a full house, was as flat as a pancake, after the red the roof came off.

Atmosphere yesterday on 07:19 - Nov 3 with 1419 views | Hoopstar | Interesting - from my seat in the Lower School End it seemed a pretty decent atmosphere. Lots of anxiety sure but we came through louder than usual. Did pick up a bit more after the red admittedly.

From the lower loft it was quiet.

Atmosphere yesterday on 07:32 - Nov 3 with 1356 views | hubble | Good atmosphere at the W end of Ellerslie, plenty of singing and chanting. There was a period in the second half after the sending off when the game looked like a stalemate and the ground went quiet, including the Sunderland fans. But apart from that, pretty good.

Atmosphere yesterday on 07:35 - Nov 3 with 1340 views | Paddyhoops | We’ve lost something like 24 home games since 2022. Sunderland top of the league by a country mile . Agreed it was a bit quiet early doors but we’ve been beaten into submission by this lot over the last few years yet we still show up in our thousands . Then a team (which lets be honest when it was dropped we thought was going to get steamrolled )puts in a performance like that stunned us all. Long may it continue.
Atmosphere yesterday on 07:46 - Nov 3 with 1271 views | GaryBannister86 | Harsh to have a go at the fans, still filling out the ground when second from bottom and with the absolutely awful home record for a few years now. Atmosphere seemed fine to me, of course the red card helped matters. It was quite an engrossing and tense game and I think people were just enjoying us perform well at home for a change. Fans = very least of our issues.

Of course it's quiet. We've been utter toilet at home for a long while now. The team needs to step up and give the crowd something to be noisy about. It didn't seem too bad to me though and people stayed 'til the end...

Atmosphere yesterday on 08:07 - Nov 3 with 1157 views | stevec | It’s been a tough watch at LR for many many years now, I’m still stunned how so many keep turning up. Gone are the days when you showed up and had a bet on whether Furlong or Gallen would score the winner knowing you had pretty much a 50/50 chance of it paying for your match ticket. This is a team that doesn’t know how to score let alone win. For my own part, I’m tense throughout the game willing us on to get a point, that takes most of my concentration. My immediate thought on the sending off was not how we can win the game but what will it do to the team if they now go onto lose. Far as the game goes, thought in SAR there was genuine excitement in the performances of Morgan, Varane and even to a lesser extent, Madsen, particularly before the sending off. Something of a breath of fresh air that midfield doesn’t have to be so turgid. Defence was strong, to be fair it had been most of the season, which is some achievement considering what’s in front of them. Give us another Gallen or Furlong, the place will be buzzing.
Atmosphere yesterday on 08:43 - Nov 3 with 998 views | Northolt_Rs | Yeah it was mostly quiet given the numbers of us who turned up but we never look like scoring a goal so there’s not much to get excited about. Solid defence and MF (at last!) yesterday - Varane my MotM and I thought Morgan and Field both had good games. We just look so poor going forward. Celar is never going to be the answer and tbf he’s feeding off scraps. We urgently need Frey back. Starting a new season with a Frey and Celar as our strikers was begging to be relegated. I don’t understand how those running our club expected us to stay in the division with zero goal threat.

I think you make such an important point here, even leaving aside the abilities or otherwise of Frey and Celar. We had no choice with Armstrong but certainly did with Dykes - I am all for cashing in but to do so at a time that leaves us only with a totally unproven and unacclimatised striker and Frey was an extraordinary decision. Doesn't matter if you rate Dykes or not. It has left us with Bennie coming on up front at Burnley. I don't believe for a second Marti agreed with the decision.
Atmosphere yesterday on 08:56 - Nov 3 with 900 views | dmm | I'll openly admit I was quiet yesterday and I have been for much of this season. As others have pointed out, watching us at LR has been tough for a long time and it's very wearing. It seems many feel like that but we'll turn up because we love our club.
