Chair not in Morocco squad 20:01 - Nov 14 with 6721 viewsdmm

I see Chair is not in the Morocco squad for this November's internationals. That's good news for us as Cifuentes gets two weeks to work with him.

Dykes, Smyth, Kakay, Armstrong and others, including Kolli for Algeria U21s, have received call ups: https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/2023/november/14/international-r-s-nine-r-s-could-fea

9 players away on International duty, yet we're 2nd bottom of the Championship! With all our other strikers away it should give Kelman the opportunity to prove he's a goal scorer in training and hopefully practice matches the next 10 days.

The African Nations Cup is on in January and February.

Hopefully Ilias not selected.

Maybe we will lose Ossie though.

Possibly Paal also.

Yeah not looking like he will be at this rate.

Hopefully they'll have finalised the squad by the time Illy and Willy hit their rekindled crescendo - am pencilling that in for January.

Then over time Marti can get him playing in a way that has him back in the squad with more chance of getting selected.

Sierra Leone haven't qualified.

Paal? Plays for Suriname which was in South America last time I looked, unless this is an ironic nod to the Damion Stewart Jamaica/AFCON joke from a few years back...

Morocco did very well at the world cup and seem to be emerging as a football nation. Therefore it may be harder for Ilias to get in and this might benefit us. Much rather have him here giving Cifuentes time to work with him.

Suriname is in CONCACAF

They didn’t qualify for the next round of the nations league but not sure are they engaged to play a friendly

Most likely Paal will be at HQ

That was a good day. I liked Stewart. A defender that made you think we might occasionally score from a set piece.

I loved it when Chair got into the Morocco squad, when he went to the World Cup, it was amazing. But I'm going to be selfish now, this is good news. He is our best attacking player and we simply cannot afford a month without him in January. Sorry Ilias, I hope we stay up and you make it back into the squad in the summer.

Yeah well he came back and for whatever reason was fairly awful for the rest of the season.

Mind you the rest of the squad was awful too.

Everytime we watch Poland in my house and Matty Cash comes on the screen my daughter asks me how that is possible and I have no answer .
Chair was really effected by not getting playing time at the WC I think and our shocking second half collaspe in back to back seasons just added fuel to the fire .
He has the chance now and Marti has already said he is the key going forward so that will make him feel 6 foot tall and could really be special for us

I just hope that Ilias didn't think he was going to be picked, only to have the rug pulled from under him.

I've got the Power.

If Chair manages to get in the squad for African Nations its likely he will only get minor substitute appearances at best.

If I was Ilias and he knew that, perhaps staying at HQ might be more preferable

However guess he couple injuries away from playing - dilemna to consider as a player !!!

If Illias manages to get into the Morocco squad it will mean that he has performed superbly in our remaining 9 matches in 2023.

If that was the case, we would probably be out of the bottom three!
