Aston Villa EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal legend Thierry Henry agrees to become new manager on 09:51 - Jul 24 by Tom1912
They've supposedly got significant investment lined up from Egypt to sort the finances.
The Egyptian investment - £60m or so - to balance their £5m monthly deficit. At least it's gone into the Club not shareholder pockets like our 'Investement'. The Egyptian is seriously wealthy but not sure if there's enough time to inject / structure more funds to being big transfers in. It does mean they can keep players and probably be strong in the loan market.

Here's an assessment of the club a couple of days ago. In summary the new owners have millions to spend but are unconvinced that Steve Bruce should be trusted with it, given his transfer failures last season.
I hadn't known that both of Steve Bruce's parents died last year. Perhaps he had bigger things to worry about than football.

Wolves
That was as much to do with how the money was spent and how much. Mendes' connections there made all the difference. Villa, Derby, Boro and plenty more have spent big to get nowhere. A couple of those in trouble now. Money helps of course, but it's more important how it's spent. We've got first hand of this from our promotions on the relative cheap and subsequent wasting of money while failing.

Just had a massive cash injection from two billionaires, interesting to see if they spend big before the window closes
How about FFP, they are already losing a fortune, I suppose they will stick two fingers up to it go for broke and see what happens, I hope they make a right mess and get points deducted next season, it makes a mockery of it!!!
