Nothing to do with the foreign secretary really.

It's been noted already that this will just be a show pony role.

The 'Brexit' office (David Davis) and the new Dept of Int Trade (Liam Fox), along with No.10 will do all the real work with other countries. Boris will just be...Boris in faraway lands while everyone else in the cabinet gets on with things that matter.

Edit: and of course, May can claim to have appeased all the 'Leavers' by saying she's put one of their main men in a 'top job', and one that deals with international relations to boot!, *pats leavers on head*.

Increasingly as the PM takes the main decisions on foreign affairs, it is the 'top job' with least power.

I imagine it appeases the 'right' of the party without him being able to actually do much damage.

Aye - hilarious though it first seems, it's actually quite canny. And he can't possibly turn it down.

And it gets him out of the UK for long periods.

Omg. An absolute joke of a party.
