Sensible predictions. I'd upgrade to 3 points home v Norwich but cut to 2 from 6 points away Bournemouth/Newcastle. 35 points so we'll need to squeeze another win/draw somewhere.

I said it before the Bournemouth game that results (especially in home games) till the end of Jan were massively important.
Bournemouth Leicester West Ham West Brom Sunderland have seen a return of 6 points unless there is a drastic upturn in form we are fuked.

Our last 7 games are a nightmare, so we really need to be picking up points sooner rather than later. We really, really need to get 9/10 points from our next five home games - Watford, Palace, Southampton, Norwich and Villa, plus a few more away from home (West Brom & Bournemouth look the most likely candidates), to put us on 32/33/34 before that nightmare run at the end. If we go into that lot inside or only a few points above the bottom three it's hard to see us getting out of it. Remember Norwich a few years ago? They were right behind us when we played them but their games were so hard they barely picked up another point and went down. |  | | |

Interesting one that as on face value it would look that way but sometimes the 'whole party build up' that will happen for the Hammers can be hugely distracting - example in recent times would be Gerrard's final Liverpool game vs Palave, scouters built it up as his farewell party & Palace focused on the match & won easily.

Dislike the notion that we will go through the last 7 games without a run of points.....
We've got to play everyone twice no matter when we play them. What if we played the last 7 fixtures interspersed across the next few months rather than in a block at the end of the season? Would this board be less negative and say "will be tough but we'll nick a few draws in the middle of that lot?".
I personally feel that we'll get better as the season progresses. New manager, new ideas, new additions (fingers crossed) may take a while to fully gel so would you expect the team to improve over time and be stronger when the last 7 games appear. | | | |
