All of which have some family members - the probability is that at least one will lose a loved one every week.

The death of Rio Ferdinand's wife from such a terrible disease at such a young age is heartbreaking for all involved - fact.

But please don't try to guilt trip people into a 'minute of applause' or whatever for him, just because you know who he is.

This does not make me a heartless bstard so saying so, but I'm fed up of being 'told' who to clap or stay quiet for. It dilutes the meaning of it.

Ditto this. Thought the same when it was posted initially.

Not heartless at all.

Have a word?

What a stupid statement.

Feel free to explain and pick apart my points.

Be thankful that the only thing you have to moan about is that you will be 'made' (by who is anyones guess) to spend a minute of your life clapping for a high profile individual who has lost the mother of his three children.

If that's the first thing that comes to your mind, then I'm honestly delighted for you.

As people are already banging on Facebook about clapping in the 5th minute.

Although I'm not sure in what minute we're supposed to be clapping for about the horrible death of the Belgian reserve league player who died a few days after having a heart attack on the pitch. Terrible news.

I'm sure someone will tell me soon though
