| Forum Thread | Swansea football legend at 19:00 26 Mar 2020
Sad to read earlier that one of Swansea’s great football men has passed away. Bryn Bidder of Port Tennant Colts and all round nice guy was the one who ran the Colts when I started playing under 16’s football for them 50 odd years ago, RIP Bryn. |

| Forum Thread | Anyone used this bus stop? at 16:38 7 Jan 2020
If you have, did you get off the bus into the middle of the road? Orchard Street is one-way and the bus stop is on the right hand side of the road. 😳 I don’t get it. |

| Forum Thread | Well Done Dave at 15:51 8 Oct 2019
A big thank you to Dave Cottle for another great jazz festival. Trying to organise and stage an event like this must be like swimming against the tide on times, but Dave has once again brought fantastic music to Swansea for us all to enjoy. So good to see a Swans Legend there at the last show, hope he had a good time. On a very sad note, Malcolm “Molly” Duncan of the Average White Band has passed away today. He was due to play at the Festival on Friday with the Hamish Stuart Band but was obviously too unwell. He had previously played here along with Hamish and stunned everyone there with his amazing sax playing. RIP Molly and thanks for the music and memories. |
| Forum Thread | Uplands today till Sunday at 08:25 2 Oct 2019
Exciting times for Uplands. Starting today and going through until Sunday. The Swansea International Jazz Festival kicks off with the fantastic saxophonist Alan Barnes and continuing with great artists with a variety of styles and genres . Many free events happening around the Uplands as well, check them out here... https://www.jazzwales.com/fringe Don’t be shy, you know you want to get there and hear the wonderful music available over the next few days. Come along and try it, you never know, you might even enjoy yourself. Makes a great change to watching inept referees spoiling Swans matches for us. https://www.jazzwales.com/ |
| Forum Thread | It’s that time again... at 10:02 2 Aug 2019
Swansea Jazz Festival is happening from 2nd - 6th October. It’s all taking place in and around The Garage at Whitez in The Uplands. Dave Cottle has arranged a varied and superb line up again this year, although smaller than previous events, it will still be a great festival. I’m sure you know by now that the funding of the Festival will be by local sponsors, and without the money from the Arts Council of Wales and Swansea City Council will obviously be more condensed than previously, but still with the same high quality musicians on show. Check out the website for more info. https://www.jazzwales.com/lineup |

Although there won’t be the usual Jazz Festival this year , a smaller Uplands based festival will take place later in the year .ðŸ‘ðŸ‘🤗 Also keep your eyes open for a mini Marina based jazz and blues set of events in pubs and clubs in the near future. I’ll post more info as and when because I know you all like to keep abreast of the jazz news on this site. Don’t forget, Friday 12th April, the amazing Jo Harman appearing at The Garage. https://www.swanseajazzland.co.uk/ourtickets/prod_6575887-FRIDAY-SPECIAL-APRIL-1 |

WELCOME to the Liberty Stadium. This is where the Swans play their home games in the Championship. You may notice that during the game, some noisy people shout at each other from different parts of the ground. Do not worry, this is normal. Today’s game is a cup match against Manchester City, but you probably know them already. The away fans tend to sing songs about their Queen and a little ditty about “Sheep’s Haggers” ( must be some sort of delicacy in England 😳) whereas the home fans like to shout that “Engerland is full of ships” or something like that. Also a great ancient song about our old King Hari and his trusty steed when Wales was divided into 5 areas. Join in with the singing if you like, the words are as follows... And we were singing Kings and animals Land of five farmers Hari had an ‘orse. I hope you enjoy your visit, and by the way , if you’d like to leave about 10 minutes early that’s not a problem, many people do but please remember to mutter on the way out... That’s the last time I’m coming here or Got to catch the bus/train/taxi Knew they were rubbish before I came. Etc etc. Come on our boys ! 🤞. ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ |
