Agree about giving the guy time, this is a different league and he will need to get used to the speed. He was pretty woeful and his positional play was dreadful.
Mark hughes will work with him but he kept letting the attacking player get on his goal side which was very odd. Maybe he should play on the wing as defensively he looked dodgy |  | | |

Come on guys give him a chance. He's come straight into a team in a few days and deserves a chance to bed in. His passing and covering needs to improve, but I think once he has had time to acclimatize and had the benefit of the coaching team's efforts I think it will. Other established players without the same excuses were little better - we need lots of work in training on how to retain the ball.
On the plus side he does look physically strong and is not easily pushed off the ball and had one great shot on target that was unfortunately well saved. I think with our depleted team with some players who had just been introduced to each other, a point from this game and performance was a definite bonus. |  |

I thought Luke Young had a poorish game too, yes in the second half we were under the cosh so you would expext our full backs to be under a lot of pressure.
No It wasn't a good debut for Taiwo but had his shot cum cross gone in like It nearly did circa 80 minutes then he would have been a hero.
Listen to what Mark Hughes said about Cisse's debut and how when he settles in and get's to know his team mates what an asset he will be, the same goes for Taiwo.

Missed most of the first half cause the stream kept crashing down. Could barely follow the action.
I know our 2nd goal was a gift from them but you cannot take away from Taiwo the mean cross he sent.
He also had our only other shot on target (if I'm not mistaken). He forced Given into a two-time save (or whatever you call that save in which the keeper first stops it and then collects it).
He's new to the team, the league, the country! Can't believe how much stick he is getting here.
A few training sessions to adjust to the English game and to his new environment and he'll be fine.
I'm not saying he played a fantastic game but jaysus! Give him some time to adapt.
He wasn't our problem tonight. Our weak (super weak) midfield was. But then MH couldn't have picked much better players than those that played tonight for us.
No Diakité for at least one more match (Mali take on Gabon on Sunday), but Traore should be available, maybe Buzsaky too. And that's a start. All we need then is for SWP to never start for us again and that's it!
