Missed most of the first half cause the stream kept crashing down. Could barely follow the action.

He's new to the team, the league, the country! Can't believe how much stick he is getting here.
A few training sessions to adjust to the English game and to his new environment and he'll be fine.
I'm not saying he played a fantastic game but jaysus! Give him some time to adapt.

No Diakité for at least one more match (Mali take on Gabon on Sunday), but Traore should be available, maybe Buzsaky too. And that's a start. All we need then is for SWP to never start for us again and that's it!

First game in the Premier League so give him the benefit of doubt.
I thought in the first half he was left exposed, everything went down the left and SWP didnt track back and let Hutton bomb on with Ireland.
2nd half, same story on the right. Funnily enough SWP had swapped sides as well and Warnock started getting forward. |  | | |

I thought he was shocking but lets give him a couple more games before passing any judgement.
I thought Barton & Derry were shocking too. SWP too wasnt much better.
Barton & SWP continue to perform far far below fans expectations and far far below their 'pay grade'. If these two actually started to perform then we could be 'cooking on gas' |  | | |

rusty,very rusty and couldnt keep a cow out from the box. but out midfield was dreadful. swp the only one that did something and brought the ball up and when looking for help or someone to pass no one was around. barton , mackie and derry were awful. the sooner mackie and derry goes the better. | | | |

Thought he was off the pace a little and out of position a few times. Clearly not used to the Prem yet, the back four get far less time in England than they do on the continent. He will learn Im sure, but he was the least convincing of the three debutants. | | | |

beening positive did like his crosses 3 I think right around the line of the 6 yard box approx. Got a OG from one and think he and HH will have some fun before the end of the season. Passing okay, 1 powerful shot, certainly has pace and give him some time training with the rest of the defence, ( blend together ) so positioning will improve. Got the impression he played to a different system, he likes to get up on a attacker and thought he was thinking he would get more cover behind him. |  |

Wasn't on the pace of the game and was standing 5 yards further back from the defensive line when we were playing the offside trap. I think with many continental players they are shocked with the speed of the English game. Lets see what he is like in 3 weeks after some MH Training and a couple more games!! |  | | |

That was a woeful debut from him, but as everyone else has said, let's give him time.
However, not being bezzie mates with his teammates just yet doesn't explain why he passed to the opposition at every opportunity. Defo needs to switch on and realise what colours we're playing in. With him and Barton in the team we'll be lucky if 50% of passes reach our own players! |  |

From what I saw his biggest problem was he was playing more like a third centre half, leaving a big gap between him and the touchline. Not sure why that was (maybe narrow pitches in france and italy  ) could be a communication issue or maybe just helping to cover our non tackling midfield. Whatever the case it certainly wasn't anywhere near the calibre of a bob malcom debut. There were some good signs and I feel confident that he will do well especially if he can combine with Traore. |  | | |

Totally agree with this... Taiwo will be great at man marking and winning the ball back in one on one situations, when the opposition has a passing triangle however based on this first game he looked like he would get pulled around and chase the ball rather than mark the man.
Conclusion: needs to play Fifa 12 and take note on the new defending introduced this season.  |  | | |
