I think Chair will go this window but if not it gives us a lot of options

I still can't see another Championship side taking Chair because you kind of have to build a team around him. I know we turned down a large bid from Turkey so perhaps more bids will come from there if he wants to go and that pesky back injury clears up..

I think with both these signings they are both likely to be great acquisitions and in the QPR mould.

It will be interesting to see. Fingers very firmly crossed !!

Yes Left back required still but also if we say we are being greedy, can we fit in one more striker, ie perhaps Dykes may still be sold.

I do hope Celar kicks on also

So much more hope than last season though.

And tonight who knows we could win a cup tie - no that would just be being silly !!

Bloody hope so. After Saturday's performance i was left thinking that even Josef Fritzl would struggle to make use of this Celar.

Amazing.

Both seem highly rated by people who've watched them at previous clubs.

Good stuff.

Never been convinced by Smyth at this level, certainly as a starter; tough asks for Kolli, Lloyd, and Bennie to all step up; and no one expects Andersen to grind out 49 games.

Really excited about these two - well done the club for getting it over the line.

A couple of thoughts/points:
- Saito - think his contract at Lommel is up end of the season, so probably a case of see where we all are at that time (if we want him permanently and he accepts our terms).
- I think Andersen has historically been pretty injury prone and managing about 25 games a season the years before he joined us. So plenty of playing time for all.
- Hopefully this allows Kolli to go out on loan, if not Bennie too. They could really benefit from a good loan with regular playing time.
- Only slight downer is why Dembele change from a perm deal to loan-to-perm at last minute? I do wonder if the news on Cannon and the club being on the hook made them realise they were short a bit of cash (maybe the indemnity policy they have on Cannon has a high excess), and with Nourry clearly always cautious, the perm deal being switched to be sure the perm transfer occurs after a player sale.

So let's summarise our transfer activity for the incomers

A French keeper from Belgium
A Brazilian RB from Portugal
A Scottish CB from Germany
A Slovenian striker from Switzerland
A French midfielder from Spain
A Scottish/English/Ivorian winger from France
A Japanese winger from Belgium, via Holland
An Australian winger

Have I missed any in this world tour?

I am pretty sure when I first read about our interest in Dembele that it was a loan for a year turning in to a permanent, similar to what we did with Taylor Richards, apologies for mentioning him.

I think it's just clever accounting defering the transfer fee for a year.

Two exciting signings for us and I expect more.

Good. Finally.

I wonder if Strategic Lead Nourry has negotiated an option to convert Dembele's loan fee into part of the sale price if Eze gets sold? Who knows. I don't.

Maybe it'll cheer Marti up a bit anyway.

We have a good record with Blackpool wingers and if the other lad really is the second coming of Mitoma that youtube makes him to be we should do alright.

Welcome!!!

Both seem like quite exciting signings but they've not played Championship football before, nor have the other summer recruits. We need to give them time. Like so many players, you get through a season of championship football, the next season you can look a totally different player. A decent loan for Kolli and a year's experience for the others, next season with Eze probably going (if not sooner) and Chair (also if not sooner), I think we'll be well set to build a strong squad. This is a big season for us though to make sure we build some momentum for a possibly top 6 fight next season.

Dembele has Willock's shirt so that would seem more permanent. I wonder can they get a run out against Cambridge to see where they are at fitness wise and to speed up the 'gelling' process. Hope Walsh plays too, he's not going to improve on the bench

Shades of the 2012/13 relegation season!

Our recruitment back then was very scattergun but, hopefully, now we are a lot more organised in our approach.

Personally I find it refreshing and exciting that we have widened our recruitment net and prefer it to Washington, Bonne, Thomas, Kane, etc

Announcement on offish said we are still waiting for visas and international paperwork - sounded like no chance them having a run out yet

Smyth try’s hard but not quiet up to it at this level. Hopefully these two will put the frightners on defenders . More options which is great to see. Especially like the look of Dembele.
That West Brom back line was monstrous on Saturday and I doubt we’ll see much better at Loftus road this season . So expecting these two to make hay against lesser opponents.

I fear, as good as our signings this summer look, most of them will get knocked over by a strong breeze

I think that applies to 99.5% of all professional footballers. None of them are built like real men are they?

The grass is always greener.

Interesting that Saito did his interview in Japanese. I wonder if he speaks any English or whether he comes with an interpreter?
