Wigan into administration on 12:45 - Jul 1 by BrianMcCarthy | Poor bastids. There but for the grace of Hoos and Ferdinand go us. |
... and our owners, who, like them or loathe them, keep ploughing the money in Lee Hoos: “The owners write a cheque every month to keep this up and running, without them we’d be up the swanny. It’s not a small amount either, it’s around £1m a month just to keep the club afloat. We wouldn’t be here without them because there’s no income coming in. Their commitment has been extremely strong. There’s no sign of diminished commitment. The club cannot survive a day without owner funding. Without it we’re into administration.
| "Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1." |

Wigan into administration on 13:30 - Jul 1 by BAWHoops | EFL have said points deduction won't apply this season if they are relegated anyway and they would start next season on -12 instead If they stay up this season then they will have the 12 points deducted So they are down |
That's boring (although fair I suppose).

Wigan into administration on 13:11 - Jul 1 by Northernr | Nah you've got to take the points off now. Otherwise what's to stop every club in the league going into admin, writing its debts off, buying the club back for a pound, and carrying on? |
Well if they want to bring in a wage cap from day one next season that maybe what’s necessary. Struggling to see how they can enforce otherwise, what with clubs contracted to wages well above that cut off already. Either that or Premier League 2.

that's doable - they're 8 above at the moment and playing well. They'll definitely be highly motivated against us next week though! They also play Hull and Barnsley who they are 8 and 9 point ahead of currently [Post edited 1 Jul 2020 14:28]

Not sure about that depends on the players whether they are getting paid and the state of their contracts

Gordon Taylor will never allow a wage cap. We've seen that he refused a wage cut whilst players weren't playing the last few months. All clubs can now do is offer the wages they can afford that's within the FFP rules. Basically any club with a small ground or small support will never be able to attain higher levels if they can't attract the best players who will simply go to whoever pays the most which will be the bigger clubs.
Wigan into administration on 14:32 - Jul 1 with 2855 views | BlackAndGoldRanger | They will be fine, are playing some good stuff at the moment. Easy 3 against us. Expect them to beat Hull and Charlton with potentially a draw against Barnsley. Fulham on last day may be resting people for the playoffs too. Will stay up but finish below us.

Wigan into administration on 13:22 - Jul 1 by DannyPaddox | Amazing run of form they’ve been on since looking dead and buried in Feb D D W W W D W W W 12 points deducted leaves them bottom and 4 points from survival. Would love to see them stay up. Had one of the best sessions ever with their fans after the play-off semi-final first leg. Great bunch of people. Will be looking out for their results. |

Wigan into administration on 17:17 - Jul 1 with 2363 views | bosh67 | Really upset for the fans and the players there. Having really gone on promotion form rather than relegation form and with decent supporters this is a huge kick in the teeth for them just as they had almost got safe. Half of me hopes they win every match now, bar our one but I think they will win that one if the groundsman and his dog are the only two that turn up. That dog's a bit useful! Will be interesting to see if it derails their form or galvanises them to go for what what be a miraculous escape now.

Wigan into administration on 18:42 - Jul 1 with 2221 views | stevec | Actually, if your club has lost the will to get to the Premier League, the best way to make a profit each season would be to drop into League One, have consistent decent seasons but make sure you always avoid promotion. £2.5 mill wage bill, owners might stop having to dip into their own pockets. Just saying.
