I am the div to whom you refer Having so much Irish talent reminds me of the old days. That piece on waddock made me nostalgic too. Was in the ellerslie rd stand with my dad and saw (and heard) his leg break. It was, to use an overused expression appropriately for once, a sickener. Loved him as a player. With his ginger hair, too-short shorts and ridiculous energy he could have been playing gas Well done Paul smyth

Paul Smyth - our newest international on 22:54 - Mar 24 by johncharles | Maybe just maybe we could give Washington a break. Just maybe he does a lot of work that some of our fans don’t see. Maybe he does a lot for the team that Holloway and Michael O’Niel can see but some of our fans can’t. Might just be worth getting off his back for a couple of games. |
Is Washo a useful non-scoring striker - a la Emile Heskey?

I did think about that as an option for Washington (and Smith) after the Barnsley game: https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/members/queensparkrangers/forum/217564/page:3/#pos It can only work if other players can step up to score, and that has well and truly happened in the last two games with five different players scoring: Manning, Bidwell, Freeman, Luongo and Wszołek. It really needed to work as Washington and Smith have pretty much dried up. [Post edited 25 Mar 2018 13:47]

Paul Smyth - our newest international on 12:50 - Mar 25 with 2324 views | AndyLinfieldFC | Obviously delighted to see Paul make his senior international debut yesterday. The goal just topped it off. What I will say is that it really didn't surprise me. Linfield fans were well used to seeing Paul do that every week last season for us. A special talent that has a MASSIVE career ahead of him! Level headed and tbh, what footballer wouldn't have dreams of playing in the Premier League. If he keeps his head down and continues to work hard, then there will be no doubts that one day he will play Premier League football, whether thats at QPR or another club. I hope I can get the chance to get over to a QPR game next season and see Paul in action. You've a special player there lads!

Andy, I noticed he received loud cheers when he entered the pitch. Was this due to a large Linfield contingent in the crowd or because he is an exciting local talent? I also read today that he travels by tube to the ground as it is the easiest transport & that he enjoys talking to fans while on his way. Hopefully he will retain these ideals as his career progresses. [Post edited 25 Mar 2018 14:57]
