We watched it on Exodus, excellent quality, the first thing we've actually seen in 1080p. It's so easy to install this add-on even I can do it. I think it's the follow up to the Genesis.

Just come back from the cinema ...it's good. Bit quirky and very violent which is unusual for a Marvel film. 7 out of 10.

Films on 11:10 - Feb 11 by Pegojack | Saw it last night and while I might be a tad more generous and give it a 5 because it made me laugh a few times, I'm forced to agree that it wasn't a great film. I left the cinema wondering why they'd bothered, to be honest. It was bound to draw comparisons with it's distinguished predecessor, and it's found wanting in almost every aspect. You can't help looking at every actor and saying "that's not a very good impression of so and so". Tom Courtney in particular was hopeless as Corporal Jones. The only one who was vaguely good was Michael Gambon as Godfrey. Catherine ZJ was easy on the eye, and that was about it. Save your money and buy a pint instead. |
I agree. Felt it was more like a mixture between a Carry On and The Dambusters. Left with the feeling that some of the film characters were sad and pathetic (Mr Mainwaring, Pike, and Wilson. Thought the introduction of the wives freshened it up a bit, but the storyline detracted from the original rich stream of comedy that made the series so good

Ryan Reynolds surprised me. Very good comedic timing. Some slapstick as well but some LOLs and thats rare for me.

Films on 15:02 - Feb 18 with 3019 views | Pegojack | Watched 'Django Unchained' for the first time on't telly the night before last. Whilst I enjoyed it, I felt a bit let down by the unlikely plot twist where Dr Schultz shot and killed plantation owner Calvin Candie, rather than shake hands with him to seal the deal where he bought Django's wife back for him. Not only did he ensure that he himself got blown away as a result, he scuppered the deal and put in mortal danger Mr & Mrs Django, having spent the last half hour of the film engineering their re-union. Since he was also the most endearing and entertaining character in the film, I felt the whole thing was a bit of a plot screw up. Opinions? [Post edited 18 Feb 2016 15:16]

Must agree. Really enjoyed that. Another top acting job from Tom Hanks. The rest of the cast and Spielberg's direction were top notch too. The play on words in the title led my wife to believe it might have been based in Venice !
