Our goalkeeper kicks the ball up to Beesley who does well and heads the ball forwards....it goes to no one!!!!! Our players are not getting to his knock downs and that is a wasted opportunity. This has happened in quite a number of games. Why hasn't BBM put this right?
As reminded to us in the open letter to fans, 2021/2022 season marks our 100th anniversary in the League. Will this be a good omen? I am hoping so...
I am reading a book about the English Civil Wars and the people living in 1665 dreaded the upcoming year 1666 because of the sign of the devil.
In 1666, which in terms of roman numerals contains all letters but only once MDCLXVI , a fire swept through London demolishing five sixths of all buildings and killing countless people.
But, ever the optimist, I always think we will have a good 100th year and if the kit is buzzing then I will buy one and support the club.
Heard about the scam on the radio yesterday and lo and behold I received a text message from Royal Mail today which I deleted. They are asking for a payment for delivery charges but really it is an attempt to get your bank details. Apparently these scams are getting more sophisticated and believable, they mimic the bank doing security checks etc, etc.
After a fire at the Oxford stadium at half time, people were evacuated. The match has just restarted with the score line versus our rivals Wigan being 0 - 0.
After 5 years away (time flies) from commentating on the Dale games Stuart graced us with his presence last night. I really enjoyed his humour, talking about how he hoped that we could score..."by rattling the Sandy net" and so on. I loved his bias and his co-commentator complimented him well. Very much hope to hear more of Stuart and Co.
The first goal of the season against us was scored by Tyler Smith , who we know well as a striker, being left alone in the the box to choose his spot. It was galling to see. Roll forward to the next match and we witness Kachunga unchallenged just in front of goal again for him to head into our net.
All that effort that goes into training etc, etc and the basic marking is yet AGAIN absent from our game.
What on earth are Rochdale being taught in training?
We see this season after season but surely we can begin to put it right.
We are now seeing the real Jimmy Ryan, and what a player !!! He stepped up to the mark against Accy, Newcastle and Bolton yesterday. Before he scored I commented how well he was playing. He is showing commitment, tenacity and that coupled with skill on the ball, he’s like a new signing. Before these games he was anonymous, constantly passing back and not showing much talent. Now, he wants the ball, he holds onto it and makes a useful pass. But I love it when he surges forword with the ball. He had a touch of luck with the deflection off the Bolton player for the goal, but he earned his luck.
