Even with 4 overs left we were favourites, with them needing more than 14 an over Then they panned us !!! Fair play, that's how 20-20 goes & I hope they win the final

Odds on is right - Sky had us at 1/10 at one stage. Good job we get another go at it next year with the likes of Archer and Stokes back, but that yesterday was really poor and really unlike our white ball team over the last few years.

When Conway was out for 46 against us he punched his bat in frustration. He's broken his finger & misses the final. Talk about gutted !!! Great win by the Aussies yesterday, both semi's won by teams having a finisher when they looked out of it with a few overs left Should be a good semi with hopefully NZ coming out on top

Fair play to the Aussies. I thought it was a reasonable total but after their first wicket went down they cruised it | | | | Login to get fewer ads
T' T20 & th'Ashes on 12:19 - Nov 30 with 2435 views | D_Alien | https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/59470786 Looks like we'll be going into the first test (Brisbane, 8 Dec) woefully undercooked - again Two of the three days of the first warm up game were washed out, and although Hameed & Burns put on an undefeated 98 before the weather intervened, no other batsman has had a knock in Aussie conditions - and now the first day of the remaining warm up has also fallen foul of the weather with the forecast not great. Our bowling unit(s) will be lacking overs too Add to that, there's a danger the schedule could be disrupted - the fifth test in Perth is in doubt due to re-imposed travel restrictions. Not looking great and although the Aussies have had their off-field problems (Cummins replacing Paine as captain, which imo isn't a positive for us) as well as us, overall the prospects aren't looking great If the two sides manage to make a competitive series out of all this, that's about the best i'm hoping for right now [Post edited 30 Nov 2021 12:24]

Was going for Australia to win 5 - 0 if Stokes wasn't going but now he is I have re-assessed and reckon it will be 3 - 1 to Australia. Proposed top 4 of Burns (avg 32.8), Hameed (vastly improved), Malan and Crawley does not convince me of 400, 500 plus scores which is what will be needed and regularly and lets not have Root coming in at 30 - 2. The middle order is very solid but the bowlers we are hopeful that they don't get injured and I assume rotate Jimmy and Broad (if is foot is fixed) and pray that Wood remains healthy but Robinson showed in summer that he is ready unless the ECB have discovered some racist terminology from an essay he wrote aged 6. Can we cope with their bowling on their pitches, see how the first one goes weather depending, will decide it.

We need to not lose this first test otherwise it will be a real uphill battle & your 3-1 will probably be about right. Jimmy looks like he will be rested for the first one, and it also looks like the 5th test will be a second day/nighter. Australia are not great but as you point out we need our top 3 to get some decent starts otherwise we could get a hammering. I hope Leach gets a few games, because with the exception of Wood, the pace of our pace attack is too similar. I also doubt Wood will last 5 tests, & would hope he can play 3

Big call first up, but i reckon both he and Anderson will play in 3 out of the 5 each Brisbane weather a bit stormy. Batten down the hatches lads!

Can understand that, but Broad is surely a better option on that wicket than Leach? Can't see Jack getting much off something so green. Unless it gets soaked and he does a deadly Derek.

Well 30-2 would have been quite good!!!!. 11-2 when Root came in, he is out for a duck & we reached 29-4. 147 all out, we need a decent session now although looks like a rain delay. Sods law says no further play then a great batting day tomorrow. As well as not playing Broad, there will be a lot of questions about winning the toss yet batting on a day that looked to favour bowling. [Post edited 8 Dec 2021 5:27]

T' T20 & th'Ashes on 07:05 - Dec 8 with 1759 views | fitzochris | Absolutely poor reward for staying up late. Even no.11 batsmen take a better position than Burns did for that first-ball dismissal. Absolutely limp display from all others thereafter. To not use one of Anderson or Broad is a mistake too, I reckon. Not even the rain will save us for this one.

T' T20 & th'Ashes on 07:28 - Dec 8 with 1736 views | EllDale | The Burns moment will go down in Ashes annals like the Harmison moment. The first ball of a series that sets the trend. Batting was weak but why not put them first? Or don’t we trust an attack minus both Anderson and Broad?

And if that’s the case, why then select that attack?

T' T20 & th'Ashes on 10:04 - Dec 8 with 1629 views | dawlishdale | Well; that was a big disappointment. In addition to the questionable selection issues, surely you would have elected to field on that pitch having won the toss? Root may well be a World class batsman, but his captaincy is suspect at best. Unless he is told what to do by others in higher places. Very much an uphill battle now; if it wasn't before.

It felt to me like the decision to bat first if we won the toss was made weeks ago, well before we saw the pitch or the conditions. The line-up decision likewise.

T' T20 & th'Ashes on 10:49 - Dec 8 with 1603 views | pioneer | Ithink it was Alan Border who once said if you win the toss at Brisbane 9 times out of ten you bat first, the tenth time you think about bowling first but then bat. Only the second time 150 years of Ashes cricket that first ball of series took a wicket. Completely undercooked line up and decide to save our best bowlers for Adelaide when (weather permitting) we will be 1-0 down. The only stranger decision on team line ups is pepe picking a full strength Man City team for an away game in europe that doesnt matter and gets injuries and a sending off. Maybe we could appoint him as an England selector.
T' T20 & th'Ashes on 02:04 - Dec 9 with 1418 views | D_Alien | Time for bed. Will Stokes be able to bowl again this match? Dread to think what the score will be when i wake up Edit: so 7 down is a lot better than i expected. Good effort by our bowlers, but we're obviously up against it [Post edited 9 Dec 2021 7:33]
