Whatever Happened To... Aaron Skelton Thursday, 8th Dec 2011 08:00 by Daniel Skelton left the U's at the end of the 2000-01 season when his contract was up, joining Luton Town on a Bosman free transfer and becoming their captain. His return to the club where he started his career was blighted by injuries - he only made 10 appearances in the season Luton were promoted from Division Three and nine the following year. He was released at the end of the 2002-03 season. After a spell on trial at AFC Bournemouth, he quit the professional game and dropped into non-league football, joining Havant & Waterlooville at the start of the 2003-04 season. He was a first team regular that season, making 32 appearances, but a knee injury eventually resulted in him quitting football altogether on the advice of a surgeon. He didn't kick a ball for two years after that, but did return to the game, joining Wessex Premier League side Poole Town in 2006. He is still playing for Poole, aged 37, and has made over 150 appearances for them to date. Away from football, he has been a site manager in the construction trade. Clubs since leaving the U's: Luton Town, Havant & Waterlooville, Poole Town. Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
