QPR v Preston Betting Preview Friday, 19th Dec 2008 23:45
The LFW pundits look ahead to the Saturday match against Preston at Loftus Road and eye up value elsewhere in the weekend market.
A couple of winners last week, one on each side. The Challenger account got a £35 boost with the Spurs v Man Utd draw but lose £15 overall taking the balance to -£146.89. Brian Power made a profit of £47.50 after picking the top three in the Sports Personality of the Year awards at 9/2 with Sky Bet, it seems that television voting could be his niche in this little game, but he remains £338.50 in debt.
Brian Power On the news this morning they said that tonight is the big night for Christmas parties and men will be trying their best to pull a member of the opposite sex by plying them with booze. Beware gents that after a few sherries this evening she may look like Rachel Stevens but when you wake up in the morning and on the pillow next to you lies the creature from the deep lagoon who has a pair of teeth that enables her to eat an apple through a letter box your regret will not just last a couple of hours. It will last for months once your mates to find out about it.
We play Preston tomorrow and I will go for Pat to get the first goal against his former team and we will have a correct score on our Boxing Day fixture at Charlton. With a lot of racing over the next few days we will try and get the kitty built up by backing Binocular at Ascot . Chuck in a couple of footie bets and we hopefully can make it a profitable holiday period.
I hope you all have an enjoyable Christmas and a peaceful 2009.

The Challenger Good lesson for us all last week, in trying to cover my back I bumped by treble that would have been worth 40 odd quid up to an accumulator worth £60 and ended up with nothing because Leeds lost at home to Colchester. Still, this is just hypothetic cash and I would pay 60 real pounds to see Leeds lose at home every week, it would be bloody hilarious. Rather than tae risks for big returns I am going to stick with the usual single football bets this week in an effort to get us back up to a break even point, there are one or two big prices out there I feel, most notably for Nottingham Forest at Southampton.
For the weekend: £10 Damion Stewart first goal v Preston 22/1 £10 QPR to win 1-0 6/1 £10 Forest to win at Southampton at 23/10 £10 treble Scunthorpe 8/5, Aldershot 8/11, Coventry 7/5 £10 double Spurs 15/8, Palace 5/2
