Boxing Day Bus Services
Boxing Day Bus Services

Bluestar are running a limited bus service on Boxing Day, however they dont seem to have thought out their timetable

Its good to see Bluestar running buses on Boxing Day, this is the first time that public transport has run in the City for a good number of years, however when they sorted the timetable out presumably to profit from a potentially lucrative crowd at St Mary's, they dont seem to have thought out getting supporters home, with the laast bus on several routes leaving before Saints fans will have had a chance to get to the bus stop.

The last bus to Winchester leaves Hanover Building at 17.10, the last one to Hythe  & the Waterside from West Quay, also at 17.10, supporters wanting to use these services would have to leave the ground at least five minutes before the final whistle at approximately 16.50 to be sure of making the bus & even that is a little tight.

To Fair Oak & Eastleigh its a little better in that the last bus goes at 18.04 so leaves plenty of time and services that run from Millbrook To Thornhill  via the City Centre leave town at 17.47 in both directions.

But Bluestar should have really  thought this through a little more, perhaps they could have just pushed back their Winchester & Hythe services by 15 minutes thus allowing fans from those areas to get back to the bus stop.

In truth its probably Blue Star who will  moan afterwards about the lack of pasengers on these routes, however they cant expect supporters to come in on the bus if they cant get home, so those that might have used the service will probably opt for the car instead now.

In truth Bluestar should perhaps liase with the Club and lay on a proper bus service for Saints fans from these areas, tickets could have been sold in advance so that the right number of buses were laid on.
