Martinez Keen To Keep Hold Of Dimi Tuesday, 23rd Dec 2008 08:30 Roberto Martinez has said he is keen to keep hold of on loan keeper Dimitrios Konstantopoulos The Swansea City manager will see the end of Dimi's loan spell from Coventry City next month but he has told the Evening Post that he is keen to keep hold of the man who has dropped to the bench since the return of Dorus De Vries. Dimi became an instant hero on his Swans debut when he saved a penalty at Doncaster and it has always been reasonably obvious that Roberto does rate the big Greek. Dimi will not take his place on the bench on Boxing Day due to the terms of his loan move but Roberto is hoping that he can make the move a permanent one when the current deal expires "Dimi knows how we work and how we are as a club now and we would love to get him here for a longer period if that is possible," Martinez said. "If we could get him here on a permanent basis, that would be very good for Swansea City. "But that will depend on how Dimi feels and how Coventry City feel about the situation. "We are not in a situation where we can pay any money now so we will have to see what Coventry say "Dimi finishes his contract at the end of the season so it could be that something happens in January."
