Small boats week. on 13:49 - Aug 13 by ReslovenSwan1 | "The barge" is a place to live. Warm, clean, safe, with free food and medical care. You have followed the media and the luvvie politicians talking ac bout perfectly good clean accommodation as a dump and deterrent. It is political posturing instead of finding solutions. Obviously the legionnaire issue has to be sorted but it looked more comfortable than my student accommodation back in the 1980s. It is temporary accommodation. I was disgusted with William Hague who called it a "deterrent". Playing political football. Get things done mate!. |
Tories like Labour have failed to discourage illegal immigration here . Both gutless, both feckless, both politically craven . We are overcrowded enough and it is cruel and callous to encourage them. What is worse is people like Corbyn encouraging it to feed his own ego.

It is ideal. It provides safely and relative comfort. It segregate the people temporarily from the main populace which it should. It still allows freedom of movement and treats the people applying for residence with respect. Once they are "in the community" as suggested by the WAG removing them in the case of a refusal is impossible.

The Tory government has bought these fecking dreadful and dangerous barges as a deliberate deterrent. Just like lovely Rwanda. Bought from Tory friends obviously. You are not on message to suggest they ‘ideal’ with ‘relative comfort’. Tut. They should be proceesed near their original countries, not once they are here. But to process there must be an approved route. Thats the key. Or …. howl at the moon about lefty lawyers and Churchills ECHR. Meanwhile the boats keep on coming.

You do realise they had control of the country when the Americans left then let the Taliban take over again, they just folded like a pack of cards hardly putting up any resistance against them, despite having large numbers and plenty of weapons supplied by the Americans to fight the Taliban they are fit young men who should have fought tooth and nail to stay in control and should be fighting like fcuk against there surpressers instead of just giving up and fleeing in there droves.

The Ukrainian immigrants are women and children and most fully expect to return to home. The are also Christian similar to the UK population and committed to democratic values. The Afghans are men of fighting age, predominantly Islamic (possible with view contrary to democratic values) and keen to stay here permanently.

By voting with other opposition against everything the Tories try to do even on the rare occasions when the Tories come up with something that may very well work like the Tories Labours only interests are themselves and not the people of this country.

95% of Afghan applications were accepted last year so they are genuine asylum seekers. I don’t think a persons religion should have anything to do with it.

"These dangerous barges" have been used for many years by oil workers, without any problems. They are far from dreadful, 3 meals a day clean bedding, a gym, and they also get a free bus pass and use of free taxis! There are many in this Country who would love these kind of facilities. In excess of over 16000 have arrived this year, where do you want to house them?

Trump agreed to release thousands of Taliban prisoners, just before the US pulled out. Biden inherited the totally mad situation. The West let the Afghan people down badly. So now they come here in their 10s of thousands.

There are millions of fit Afghan men they had control of the country and you believe Trump releasing a few thousand Taliban was the reason the Afghans give lol they outnumbered the Taliban big time and had a vast arsenal of weapons at there disposal but still bottled it, give up and fled, shame on them.

To be fair, I don't think that's what he's saying. When the Taliban returned the Afghan army, those armed and trained by the USA and the UK, they just gave up and ran. Most of the USA supplied equipment fell into Taliban hands, all thy didn't get was what had broken down beyond repair or had been used to flee the country. The Taliban siezed an estimated 10 billions worth of equipment including about 30 Black hawk helicopters.

Small boats week. on 21:19 - Aug 14 with 733 views | majorraglan | The whole thing is a shambles. Last week there was a suggestion the local council delayed the disclosure re notification of the Legionella, now it seems that’s not the case and they told the contractor and someone from the Home Office in a timely manner but that didn’t stop people being put on the barge! Now we have Priti Patel savaging Braverman who’s used emergency legislation to force through a plan to use an RAF base (near Patel’s constituency) for 12 months which is actually likely to be 5 years. Why don’t we just employ some civil servants to start processing the applications, boot out quite a few people whose applications have been rejected and bingo, it may start to stem the flow. As things stand we’re paying the frogs £500m to stop the boats, but they aren’t!
