Flitcroft was very good at 'banging the drum' for Hill in the dressing room and on the training ground and generally being a motivating presence. I never thought he'd be manager material and so it has more or less proved; a very good motivator but one with a fairly limited repertoire of his own. The less said about "special human beings" the better.
But, if they can get the chemistry going as they did for Dale, they'll be a formidable team. [Post edited 1 Sep 2019 14:15]

I reckon the way Murphy has got us playing is how Hill wanted us to play but unfortunately he was unable to get the tactics transferred onto the pitch. Could be that some of the players had an element of fear of losing the ball whilst playing and that was due to possession being the most important factor. As has been said before get Hill of first time round and the one before his 5 year contract. Bolton have a great manager especially with Flicker as his 2IC

Flicker has more empathy with players and fans...
Bolton players are young, so will be influenced by his approach.
Hill would be a very good number two, to a father figure manager like Roy Hodgson.
