I heard CR going mad and him giving asoro abuse for a stray pass, think f*ck off was included in it.
then there was another time he went mad again at 4min 45 secs on the highlights. it seems way over the top for me, all the players have made errors here and there during the friendly games. What good is it going to do shouting abuse at asoro. It came across like CR believes asoro is the youngster, so he can give him grief.
what is CR like with him on the training ground or the dressing room. asoro has loads of raw talent, often jealousy can cause the way CR is treating him. It won't help asoros confidence.
I'd enjoy watching asoro play, I don't want to think that connor roberts is out to ruin his selection chances. I hope cooper has a word about it.

in every sport you get the hotheads who get annoyed and lose their cool over situations. tennis players smashing their rackets, cyclists who fall off, then throwing their £10,000 bike against a tree. and you get the calm types who can stay calm under stress and under pressure. a different calmer player in the same circumstances last night would not have reacted the way CR did.
Posters saying it's fine to bollock a youngster, possibly that is be the way they would react - is it the best way though. i think there are better ways to react to the situation.

I don't think you can compare what goes on on a football pitch with what goes on in an office job ... if that's what you're getting at. If Asoro can't handle a bollocking for two poor pieces of play, then I'd suggest he's in the wrong profession. |
If that reaction is acceptable after a pass didn't reach its target - Byers and Asoro not on the same page - every player in the country would be popping clozapine throughout games.
In a league game he would have been booked for the language he used that could be clearly heard by fans and picked up on microphones.
I'd drugs test him too.
Asoro did handle it - many fans don't think he should have to .. especially from a player of Roberts' ability.

Asoro deserved it and it did seem to sort him out. Roberts is becoming a big time charlie but no more than McBurnie (the biggest), Byers, Celina. Have a look at their social media accounts. No doubt in part due to the seniors they looked up to, Leroy Fer for example. | | | |

Agreed. However, you'd expect CR (at RB) to be communicating (and giving a rollocking to) with his right-winger more than any other player on the pitch. Especially when he's not doing his defensive duties. | | | |

Two trains of thought here.
Those who think you improve a dog by beating it and those who think you improve a dog by training it.
In any sport, in any walk of life Roberts' acton was unacceptable.
In all honest my reaction should have been to walk up to Roberts and punch his lights out - but Asoro is a professional.
It also appears that many who are slating Asoro didn't't see the game.
Asoro didn't react, most or let his head drop.
It is the fans who are complaining about Roberts' behaviour.
And, if Cooper doesn't sort out Connor Roberts he'll have a very negative effect on the squad. [Post edited 25 Jul 2019 9:16]
