I've never heard him say a bad word about us, always reflects positively on us and his time with us. What a time to be a great keeper and find yourself up against Shilton and Clemence for the England cap.
He'd always come and say hello to us as boys and have a laugh and a joke pre-KO and for me will always be a QPR legend regardless of Wet Spam.

Why wouldn't he just say it's not a great idea if I comment. West Ham men like Bonds, Cottee etc I can understand.
Bit like John Hollins on the pitch on Saturday, he had plenty to say about us when we had the plastic pitch and he was at Chelsea

Spot on about Hollins BTW , he used to slate us when he was Chelsea, never liked him
or never warmed to him since , and find it a bit pathetic when he comes out saying how much he loved Rangers is that because the new Chelsea don't know who you are john ?

And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles Brian Moore

Yeah, the YouTube video of the "Robinson from the halfway line" replay where they interview him afterwards is bitterness personified.

Poll: Which is the worst QPR team?

Bollocks to Hollins,he wanted us thrown out after the Faurlin debacle. He can go and suck John Terry's nipples,Micky Leach was a better player anyway.

Poll: So how was the season for you?

Exactly Camberley that's how I remember him a proper bitter loser , Hollins to me will always be Chelsea if I were Rangers I wouldn't let him through the front door

True, but I remember being surprised at the time, it was very out of character for "Gentleman John".

My last memory of him at QPR was as a decent caretaker manager at a fairly poor time in our history. I was pretty pee'd off when we appointed Harford (who I'd never rated) and I submit to the court that we'd have done a sight better sticking with Hollins.

On balance I'm willing to accept him as one of the good guys.

Did he actively slag QPR off, or just not mention us at a West Ham event?

If it's the latter this is an amazingly petty thing to be angry about.

To be fair, it would have been pretty funny if he'd turned up, delivered a eulogy about good old cokernee West Ham and what a great stadium Upton Park was, led the crowd in two verses of "Blowing Bubbles" and then said "of course you'll never be a patch on the Rangers" and given it a massive UUUUURRRRS!

A lost opportunity, I feel.

I don't understand why ex-players don't self-immolate when they leave like those faithful Hindu women of old.
