The Frankie Friday Music Thread.....RIP on 11:04 - Mar 26 by W13R
Some old stuff.
Nice selection, listening to the Atmosphere Motiivation sounded like snippets from Jamiroquai's entire career of producing music ! ;) Bands like modern romance and blue rhondo a la turk took the jazz, funk and disco with latin beats to another level but these guys always remain favs for me.

Paul Hardcastle nice :-)
I loved this tune and this version is my favourite, love the sax. Got the 12'' and it still sounds banging on a 1210 through a good amp and speakers......

Took the kids to our local golf driving range today ,smashing balls all morning was good fun. Cracking open a beer and chilling..let's stick a couple of cheeky tunes on.:)
Tough little tune..

I know it is not Friday. I know this is a Spackman. But I make no apologies - Two years ago today chaps :(
I can't believe its 2 years. How long is Clive going to put up with us lot? Takes up a fair bit of room on the forum home page. I've said it before and I'll say it again, its a brilliant thread. Perhaps not everyone's cup of tea but with the rest of the LFW site its made following QPR more fun. There's quite a few facebook group pages now that do a similar thing posting house music but I'd rather spend my time and share the music with fellow QPR fans than anyone else. There are still some quality house tunes that haven't been posted so this could go on for a while. Frankie Knuckles passing has got this group of like minded house heads together and its been good fun digging out the old tunes again. Unfortunately even after two years im still sitting here in GOSH with punt jr so I cant post any tunes at the mo ,hopefully out by the weekend. He's getting better. Where's Fredmanrave? Hasn't posted for a while. Bless him ,just when he compiles the best excel spreadsheet playlist known to man another load of tunes gets posted that will need adding. He's a top man is Fred. Anyway Frankie Knuckles RIP. Was and always will be the Godfather of House.

PunteR -- give your little lad a house hand clap and a cheesey hug from all of us on this thread fella. Most important thing out of the way first.
Two years has flown... as Arsey Whinger would say "un-believable" Whatever happened to that Frankie Knuckles inspired film that was spoken about? Did it happen? Have I missed it? This time of year is also when I recall my own health issue two years ago and am thankful I'm still around - that's why I got blitzed last 4 day weekend!
Anyway - another pair of Spacks as a salute to the great man
(Thanks to Disco for turning me onto the second track)
Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Wonderful post mate. I've said it before but I considered myself a bit of an expert on House but this thread has taught me about so many more good tunes. I've got plenty more still to look through as well, aided by Fredmans wonderful spreadsheet. So much tuneage so little time eh!

Honestly, this thread is like the bible of House music. All meaning to club life is all within these pages...
Changing direction a bit..Quality uplifting tune from a classic Hacienda band

Great post PunteR, can't really add much more except it's been a pleasure talking to everyone on here and going back to back on tunes.
Glad PunteR jnr is getting better and great that LBlock got over the health scare. And seconded about FMR.
Apparently (and arguably) this was the first house record.............

FloridaR - not a massive fan of Greg Porter but that is a good choon combining a bit of proper old bluesy feel with a fat beat.
Dropping back into the site of the original school before they knocked it down to build the old school... One of my favourites with a great video
Hoping to see scenes like this at 10.45pm in the Queen Adelaide tonight....

PunteR, I hope your lad gets well soon and whatever it is it's not too serious?
This thread has given me so many smiles because of the long lost gems I haven't heard in years or even heard ever before. I never thought that anything could touch Soul, Boogie, Rare Groove but then came along this upstart called House music and it changed everything I knew and loved. The American's are shite at most things but boy do they know how to make music.
Anyway, enough of the rambling lets have a short clip from the Godfather of House right hand man with those smooth haunting vocals.
