The Frankie Friday Music Thread.....RIP 07:01 - Apr 4 with 2474169 viewsLblock

Here I am starting this from my recovery bed and no clue how to link tunes on an iPhone!

Will stick on my offerings from a PC later unless the other knuckles thread is the preference to use?

House classics and dancey dazzlers only, no hijacking from suicide rock please!

In the beginning there was jack.......

Been meaning to update for years.
Can only be one.......

The latest from DJ Koko.

I don't normally upload whole DJ sets but this fella is pretty amazing although wont be to everyone's tastes I'm sure.

Technically brilliant and I do like his groove selections.

Amazing what you can do with seven inchers these days............

Mr. Thing - The Uk's Own 45 King.

I normally find these Boiler sets a bit cringey..... just don't get it, bods standing around and all that.

That was good though, not a fella I've heard of and enjoyed it.
Used to quite like all the old rare groove stuff and got into it a bit but not much; got a bit snooty and "right on" for me.

One that I still have in my box is this:-

Also if rare groove and funk is your thing then this aint too shabby

I still give a bit of it a blast now and then along with some Northern Soul, a bit of Daptone etc

I’ve seen Mr Thing live a couple of times and he’s excellent. He’s also compiled a few ‘Strange breaks and Mr Thing’ albums that are worth checking out.

I picked up a reissue 7” of that Mickey & the soul generation the other day - love the beginning. Got a feeling Major Force sampled it... I’ll have a dig around and see if I can find it later.

Nice :-)

I like that a lot but it reminds me of another track. It might even be an Aphex Track but it is driving me mad!

Hard Music for Hard times.............

This was the mayhem tune about 15 years ago, love the video. Chris and Henry superb.

I used to end up at Liberator Acid Techno Squat Parties 98 to 00. Generally the all-dayer after the second night so edgy place & edgy me so 15 cans of Stella is probably about right (when it was 5.2%) lol.

Sometimes I don't know whether to ignore pisstaking dicks or get all emotive about it and invade other threads with my own rebukes.

For now, I'm staying zen and will just say

Hahahahhahhhahahahahaha

he did this set earlier in lockdown for Defected/Glitterbox & was fab. May be some Schofields if both sets are similar vintage but really enjoyed it at the time and he is great to watch

Yeah mate, I know exactly what your saying. We used to laugh at all the blokes stood round the booth, looking moody, holding the same fu(king beer bottle in their hand all night, just watching the DJ. Weird.

With the Boiler Room they basically created a club for it, which is great as it allows them to all fu(k off there and the DJ knows what to expect!

That Mickey & The Soul Generation is one helluva tune.

I don't recall that tune for the life of me - like it.

Another label that rings bells there though, Big Beat.

Has to be this absolute stormer on that label........see the day.
Zoo experience standard.
