Inter Milan Sack Frank De Boer

Inter Milan will arrive at St Mary's manager less after sacking Frank De Boer after only 85 days in charge

One time favourite to take over from Roanld Koeman at St Mary's Frank De Boer will fail to arrive at Southampton airport for a second time after being sacked by Inter Milan this morning.

De Boer leaves an Inter side who are in disarray with internal issues within the squad which has impacted on the start to their season so far.

From a Saints perspective this is perhaps not great news, De Boer's departure could mean that the squad bonds together and starts to play as a team rather than a collection of disenfranchised individuals.

Although this is not entirely down to De Boer he is the one paying the price for it and in now looks like Inter will put U19 coach Stefano Vecchi in charge for the game against Saints on Thursday night.

The news received mixed reactions in Milano, a statement from one of the prominent Inter Ultra's groups read.

"Whilst we are hopeful that a change of coach will also mean a change in our fortunes, many of us are also upset because we have already purchased our official club calendars for 2017, Frank De Boer is March and given our past record of 9 managers in 6 years it would have been folly to have even put him up first in January. We call on the club owners to either give a full refund on all calendars or send out a sticker with the new managers picture on it, although we would prefer that the club did nothing so that we can throw a burning motorcycle from the second tier of the Curva Nord in protest and turn up at the Chairman's house looking all Italian and moody"

85 days and fired is completely ridiculous.whether he lost every game 85 days is unbelievable.

I don't think it will make any difference as I expected Inter to, and no less so because of this, be very defensive, allow us possession but hope to hit us on the break. We will need to score first to open the game up. We need to take what few chances we are likely to get.
