Live from Dover — podcast Wednesday, 18th Dec 2013 00:15 by LFW Following the sudden announcement of new stadium plans last week, QPR chairman Tony Fernandes was the guest on this week’s Open All R’s podcast. Speaking about plans for the new stadium Fernandes told the Podcast: “The great thing about the way we run this club is we get a lot of fans’ opinions. It’s something I subscribe to with my airline, all of my 12,000 staff’s ideas are put forward and considered. With QPR we have thousands of fans and I love giving them input. “As soon as the announcement came out some of the land owners approached our developers and requested meetings with me. We’re busy, busy, busy — just today we closed in a large piece of land. “What is known at Loftus Road is the atmosphere is great. Let’s start with that and try and replicate that for a 35,000-40,000 seat arena. I believe it can be done. Let’s use Loftus Road as the base for what can be done. “There are various ownership structures we can look at, there are various ways of funding this. The shareholders of QPR would own the stadium. We may keep it as a separate stadium company. You would have the same shareholders so it wouldn’t impact the club in any way. We are looking at the present structure of the club owning the ground.” This week’s podcast is hosted by Chris Mendes with regular panellist Paul Finney, Clive Whittingham from LoftforWords and QPR Stats man Paul Jenkins.
