Time To Show Our Class At Hull Tuesday, 20th Mar 2012 18:12
All the talk of the last few months has been Reading's run of wins, now Saints have to show their own class and despatch Hull City.
Over the past couple of months Saints have got their own form back together after a dodgy spell at the beginning of the year, under normal circumstances this would have been more than enough to take us well clear at the top, however this run has been somewhat overshadowed by Reading's incredible run of wins which has seen the propel themselves up the league from mid table to the position where they could actually top the division tonight if things go badly for us and well for them, we have to make sure that this doesnt happen, we have battled long and hard to put ourselves in this position, so now is the time to show our class.
We have been somewhat fortunate in the last couple of away games, but we have come back with six points and tonight we need to make that nine.
If we do that then we could find ourselves only three wins away from the premier League, we have heard some fine words in the last week from our players, now they have the chance to put them into action, so lets kick on to the premier league as quickly as possible, we chased Huddersfield long and hard and overtook them due to winning games whilst they drew too many, lets not copy their example and lets not let Reading copy ours

Due to work and family comitmements, it;s not possible for me to go to any away matches. I'd just like to pass on my extreme gratitude to all those who do go to the away games. So many times I can hear their tremendous support of the saints as I'm listening on the radio. Cheers guys

I'm afraid I'm not convinced about how enduring our recent "return to form" has been poor at Milwall for much of the game, overrun at Leeds (very resilient, but hardly in control), blunt vs Ipswich, lucky to have the advantage of an extra man at W Ham and so on. We're beginning to look best against the poorer sides and struggling against those who are highly motivated or in better form ie more consistent, than ourselves. Let's hope the lads are up for it tonight and make a point to the other sides who must be viewing us a a bit wobbly !

Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league. After our shambolic 5-0 defeat at New Lawn, nothing would give me greater pleasure, even if it meant losing one of my closest awaydays in the process. What’s the excuse going to be today Steve – shocking pitch, faking head injuries, Mexican banditry or some other bit of sour-grapery bullsh*t? York City Polls |
