We have seen the likes of Ntcham, Celina and Paterson good Adanced midfielders trying to force things from deep come unstuck, all for a player putting a foot on the ball but often the best ball is the first one you see. Similarly amazed that Vigouroux doesn't use Key after he tracks back the winger and then peels off into space as the ball goes through to Vigouroux leaving Key free with plenty of room and time to play either a quick ball down the line or carry the ball forward |

Think most didn't expected a positive result, we all hoped for the best, Cooper actually picked a more attacking team instead of having both Bidewell and Manning on the left he chose Lowe who hadn't been the preferred selection up to that point in the league team. We got caught at the back and Fulton's sending off ended any real chance of recovering the game. |

A loss like a number of home games which game management has loss us points, I cited the Gillingham game in which we maybe have come unstuck, you cannot solely rely on attacking intend to win games, as said before a fine line trying to find the balance between attack and defence and knowing when to do either correctly. Will give Grimes a bit of credit at the moment as his play in general seems a lot sharper and quicker, he has pushed further forward and made some good covering interception but when he does push forward then the other midfielders have to do the covering work. As for the errors that tends to happen when options become limited or the player on the ball is far too confident lulled into a false sense of security although being given hospital passes doesn't help. |

Think Ronald is causing problems for teams Leeds as many teams have done are doubling up on him sometimes you need to snuff out problems out early in games as we didn't with James, Tymon needed to ensure his threat was limited by being more cautious going forward onlyvwhen cover was in place from the midfield and centrebacks a balance that needs to be looked at, Key had similar problems on the other side which was stifled for most of the game until Key push forward more into the central midfield where he seems very effective in an attacking sense, fine line balancing the need for attack or defence. |

Was it naive of Cooper to expect the pay rise after the loss of the Parachute payments, the team ended up have the three players if not more Downes, Ntcham, Paterson, Obefemi and Piroe but was missing a defence, did we get Wood and Darling the following year it all blurs into one? |

Both teams left themselves open to counter attacks all game, you score and we can score more mentality that is great if you win but sucks if you lose. I would agree the games could go both ways but how many of them are now going the wrong way because of that naivety or are we going to go down the road of we haven't got the quite in depth, Key was more or less playing in the midfield by the end of the game it secured a forward momentum that Leeds tried to defend against, they couldn't but when Leeds needed to attack our right was left without anybody picking up their left winger, we secured the draw the game should have been locked down just as it should have been each time we went ahead, as entertaining as the game was we didn't manage the game properly. Sometimes you need to stick with the players doing the job in tight games regardless of when the next game is, if the team selection for the start of the next game has to change so be it but don't change things when things are so tight securing points could be lost by changes. |

There was no reason to have them on the ball so much especially after scoring the press is bound to come, quick balls into space behind their defence would give us time to regroup as a defensive unit, how many time can you give the ball away in crucial areas of the park. Same mistakes have to be rectified as a press must be expected quick ball to players who can see what is in front of them. |

They may have been the better team but we opened them up because we exploited the weakness in their game plan just as they exploited ours, we didn't manage the game properly when we went in front or at the end when we equalised we left ourselves exposed to the counter attack with schoolboy errors. |

Yes they can, just have to see if William's can work out what is going wrong, The balance between attack and defence has been a problem since relegation and obviously the cause of that relegation, we now seem to have some good quality in the team but we are getting caught out by teams often in the same ways. |
| Forum Reply | Peart - Harris at 09:04 25 Nov 2024
We really need to take care after scoring goals the opposition's response in tight games is to attack straight after conceding and yet we insist of trying to play in tight areas of the pitch instead of playing the ball beyond the oncoming press, Williams really needs to look at that part of our game and learn the lesson that Russell Martin team struggled to address. As you say a point against the top team would not of been undeserved but how many times this season have we not got the points we deserved. |
| Forum Reply | When will Russell Martin learn at 07:32 25 Nov 2024
Is it a case of if it works against some teams it must be the right thing to do, similar could be said of Cooper defensive set up but then it comes down to the how good are your players at doing what you're asking of them, how good is the team at exploiting their weaknesses and final how does a manager want his team to play so better teams cannot exploit those weaknesses by varying their teams play to suit the standard of the team their are up against. |

Bianchini good on the end of two hood crosses by Tymon, fluffed his limes on the first one and put the equaliser which should have earned us a draw but aother Millwall moment for the team searching for glory throwing caution to the wind. |
| Forum Reply | When will Russell Martin learn at 23:15 24 Nov 2024
Amd yet teams need to know that once a press becomes too restrictive a well thought out long ball is needed amd at times quickl passing opens up defence no need to for fullback to get involved further up the park. The trouble is our fullbacks are some of our best attacking players. |
| Forum Reply | Swansea City v Leeds United : Match day thread UPDATED at 22:58 24 Nov 2024
Yes but this is what they are asked to do get up field, we know Key has pace to burn and as has been said Tymon is one of our best crosses of the ball on the left, why because he is left footed. So let's see what is suppose to happen when our full backs are press so high, surely the opposite fullback must drop in to cover the centrehalves as the push across to cover the fullback pushed forward otherwise the other centre half has to decide where does he cover Cabango was caught out of position he should have been in behind Darling as he is forced out to the winger defending that front post cross with Key also covering and the central defence midfielder should also be in position to cover.Cabango OG was because he was trying to right the mistake of the first goal. This is not having a go at Cabango, Darling, Key or Tymon this is about how they and the whole team are asked play throwing stupid goals away. We have seen it with Martin and now with William's once you are up in games you don't give away silly goals away by over committing players forward, we didn't need to, the gaps in the Leeds defence were there because of the high press leaving space in behind their full backs accurate balls over the top or down the channels were killing them, no need for the fullbacks to press on because their wingers weren't going to chase back with them, once lost in midfield gaps in our defences were evident.
