I had no problem with the degree to which Marti toasted players today, every one of those players except Edwards (who arrived last week) and Walsh have played major minutes for us this year, it's not as if any of the rest were reserves or youngsters thrown in for debuts.

However I do think it was a mistake not to take at minimum Ashby and probably Madsen off at half time. We were arguably the better team in the first half with a couple of very clear weak links and that game was still there for the taking at 3-2.

On a positive note, shout out to the 4500 who went and made this sound like a home game for large chunks of the time

He's been poor much more often than he's been good, this is one of the worst individual performances I've seen in a while, and he's not ours. Barring an injury crisis I wouldn't be playing him again this year and if we can send him back and save money (no idea if we can) then we should

Yeah there's going to be a lot of "we got hammered" reactions but we've mostly played well. Need to be more clinical and a couple of players need to take a hard look at themselves but most of the team can come out of this and hold their heads high.

disappointing. We've played pretty well and done ourselves credit, score is incredibly harsh.

Not a good day for Ashby, I think/hope this was last chance saloon for he and Madsen

We've played well. Considering the quality of the team they put out, this has been well above "par" as an effort - some poor individual mistakes have cost us.

They haven't had a single shot on target that hasnt gone in. Hard to criticize the team selection that much.

Lot of back and forth about whether resting players was right or not, but honestly, Walsh aside this doesn't look like he really has done that anyway to a great extent.

All of these players (Edwards aside, where I think the intent was always for him to play regularly for the first team) all of these players have played very regularly for the first team this year.

Another way of looking at this, any PL/upper champ clubs who ARE looking for a manager (except everton) now have another strong candidate, with bigger reputation than Marti, on their list.

Someone needs to make a track of Andy Sinton's end of game reactions when we win. Love that man, proper Rangers.
Stick a bit of Nick London's "dirty leeds" on for good measure.

Do think anybody thinks we are safe do they? Think its more that we have gone from having a high probability of dropping to a good probability of surviving.

For what it's worth over here the bookies have us at odds which imply a 15% probability of relegation. But they've only listed 8 teams you can bet on. I might have our odds a little more likely than that personally (and we know bookies aren't always right) but being one of 8
10 teams and on the lower end of probability of those teams feels about right?

Yes but would we have to discount the 5m we'd need to pay them out of what we get from the sell on fee, or could we pay it to them over time?

How have things changed so drastically in last ten games

Would love to know just how close we got to sacking Marti.
The majority of the fan base continued to be behind him throughout which was refreshing, and I like to think a factor.

I hope that's a real sliding doors moment for us as we look to the future.

8 points above the drop zone, 8 points off the playoffs. The sweet embrace of mid table. It feels so good.

Didn't see much in that initially, thought we just lost the man (which we did) but looked like Nardi was fouled on the replay

Dust off the old song! Must be hard to live up to the reputation when your dad was the most influential person in the history of the world.

I feel the same I'm coming around to jjm. He's got the same flaws he's always had but the things he was good at he's now great at. He can be frustrating still but he's a better player than he was 2 years ago and holding his place on merit at the moment.
