QPR v Ride A White Swansea Match Thread
at 17:15 26 Dec 2024

Poor game, but hoping it's a one off. Would rather Chair, Frey and Morrison start at Norwich if possible. Even if they have to come off at half time. Looked better when Chair and Frey came on today

Where are the "Nourry out" comments now ???
at 01:31 22 Dec 2024

I think one of thing to consider is that we're only an injury to Paal and another CB away from being in trouble again. That lack of depth is something Nourry is accountable for.

Whilat the team is winning the negative comments will obviously be quieter, but I don't think anyone would be sad to see him go.

Nourry still carries some blame for me. Not enough cover in the squad (1 left back?) and still wasted loads of money on Madsen and Celar in my opinion. Even if we admit they have improved, similar quality could have been found for cheaper.

I actually think the recent player development and improvement in team performance is a testament to Cifuentes and the job he is doing. I think he's a top manager and is covering Nourry's flaws.

Don't suppose anyone knows any bars by Liverpool Street that might show the QPR game? All seem to be obsessed with showing Leeds

Eze Transfer Value and likelihood of Impending Sale

Personally think Palace is the wrong club for the sell on clause. They seem to drive a hard bargain and I think there's a good chance Eze's time Palace ends the same way as Zaha

Varane looks good. To be fair to him I thought he was looking decent in the Blackburn game before he got sent off and it looked like we were going to win it

I know he hit the post when he could have won the game, but I thought Celar looked like a different player today. Can see shades of what we paid for. Amazing what confidence can do for a player

Really chuffed with the win and happy for Celar.

However looking at it realistically an argument could be made that we were lucky not to lose last night. Nardi had a superb game and he's been a good signing.

Celar seems to be a pure finisher as other than his goals last night he offered nothing. Every time the ball went forward it came straight back which doesn't suit how we play. If we want him to succeed we need to adapt to his strengths and not expect him to battle for everything.

Morrison looks good, Varane is developing into a nice player and Dembele looked good at start of season, but had started to regress. Saito is a gem for me. Has skill, tries hard and seems to care.

I'm sorry, but can't agree with anyone that Madsen and Santos look decent. Both are awful. Santos i'd be willing to give time to develop/send out on loan, but Madsen is one of the biggest waste of spaces i've ever seen and shouldn't be near the starting lineup once other options are available.

I hope to be proven wrong, but ultimately I think Madsen, Celar and Santos will continue to struggle/wont succeed.

I thought the figure floating about for Madsen was 3.5 - 4 million? That seems to be what everyone I spoke to seems to think (altho everything is kept so quiet who really knows)

Well Madsen and Celar alone were allegedly bought for a combined 6.5 million 😂 (if I don't laugh, I'll cry)

League 1 players

I might be overly pessimistic, but the incredibly poor recruitment combined with injuries makes me feel like this season is already done and you can rubber stamp us for relegation now.

My question is what players do we think will move on when we get relegated and who do we think will stay to try and get back up? I personally think the below will leave which leaves us with a scary poor squad that'll need to be boosted by more of Nourry's data signings

Players I can see leaving: Dunne, Cook, JCS, Paal, Field, Chair, Saito (not our player), Dembele (might be too soon?) and maybe Frey if a newly promoted team wants a cheap punt on a backup.

That was embarassing. Had 4 or 5 chances to clear that ball. Was bobbling round the area for an eternity

Madsen is just awful and an embarassing waste of money. I never thought i'd be able to dislike a player more than Dozzell and then we achieve it with his replacement!

I've decided selling Dykes was a mistake. At least he would hold the ball up. Now when we hit it long it just comes straight back at us

Only plus so far today is that Varane looks decent. Everything else looks poor. We just cant make chances. I dont even blame Celar because we dont give strikers a chance to miss
