I'd forgotten about the cut in business rate relief, so in the near future a hospitality business will face:

NI increase
Cut in Business Rate Relief to 40 percent
Increased minimum wage
Increase in employee regulation
Increasing borrowing costs

One inefficiency I've seen numerous times in the NHS and seems to apply here is the use of individuals as points of contact for services, in this case a consultant.

The first cases were reported in the 1990s.

The very simple explanation is that businesses have an operating plan and when a variable changes they assess the impact and make changes.

For example if your national insurance costs go up by £10,000 you have to find the money from somewhere; put up prices, reduce profit, cut staff, change your product line, reduce operating hours etc. etc.

Someone will no doubt call me Heinrich Himmler's long lost brother but he is a summary.

We need an implementation review of the previous inquiries, has anything changed! Have the identified actions been implemented?

Since Tony Blair moved into No 10 in 1997 there have been no fewer than three government commissions, three independent commissions, five white papers and 14 parliamentary committee inquiries into social care.

Changes to NI, the minimum wage and employment rights will close many pubs.

In all aspects of society hats seem to have worn in the past, in football terraces were largely uncovered.
I think Bob Stokoe may have been the last real hat wearing manager?

As Richard O says, it's about shape and approach. When playing in a back four as a full back I was nearly always told to attack only when there was space, get the ball forward to a better player asap, don't attack when our other full back is attacking and if you beat an opponent that's enough to create a disturbance in the defending team so look for a pass.

Agreed, the same defensive formation that we struggled with, will full backs pushed on.

These players struggled playing with five at the back, Williams swapped toma back four, Williams has now created five at the back by dropping Grimes in there.

1st Goal - Cullen isolated, in his own half, facing his goal tries to turn his man and gives away possession.
2nd Goal - Tymon and then Darling hesitate on edge of the six yard box trying to play football when it needed clearing.
3rd Goal - Header in the six yard box following a needless foul from Fulton as the ball ran for a goal kick.
4th Goal - Christie collapses in a heap under no pressure whatsoever.

By going hard 25 years before the target date, we are going to end up with a load of obsolete technology, it's stupid people making the decisions who have no idea about speed of change effects.

Perfectly summarised by the CalMac ferry fiasco. Technology evolves so quickly rushing to use today's solutions for 2050 is effectively using 25 year old technology.
