Great performance and attitude! No fear. Well done to the team and management. A good result against Alty will set us up for the remainder of the season. |

I actually thought to-days results strengthened our play off position with Altringham, Yeovil and Sutton all in the chasing pack losing and Halifax drawing. We have two games in hand on most of these teams. York and Oldham continue to look strong. Hopefully to-days rest refreshes us for the festive fixtures. |

Well done to BJ and the players. Not overly spectacular but job done Some real positives including Okeke's performance; willingness to shoot; playing through the lines more often and two goals from midfield. The weak attacking tag will change when Kairo hits form and when he and Dev form a more dangerous partnership. Same again on Saturday as the challenges from a hard working disciplined team will be similar to last night. |

They have just hit the bar! Our inability to break these teams down is very concerning. |

Absolutely. We should be optimistic of a win and a decent performance against a semi professional outfit. Maybe a case for both Hogan and Ferguson to be involved and hope that Waller can dominate. Would also like to see Burger start and that Jim changes things a bit earlier if we need to go to Plan B. |

A good result even 1-0 can often mask a poor performance but both results and performances are becoming a problem for Jim. The post match interview gives the impression that he does not know how to solve the conundrum although the questions are hardly probing. Personally I would take two scruffy wins this week but the players are starting to look bereft of confidence. Jim's record to date has been pretty good and he retains a lot of credit for last seasons heroics under difficult circumstances but the deterioration is marked. The next part of the season will determine if he is still the man to lead us next year and he will need to think more carefully about attacking intent, squad rotation and a Plan B. I hope he can turn it round but needs to take more risks. He has been well backed this year but there are 8-9 teams with real intent of the play offs and may strengthen in January. Next year the relegated teams are likely to be equally as strong so it wont be any easier. Finally this is strong squad of players by NL standards and I think that they need to take some responsibility for our mini slump. It is is a time for the leaders to show their metal. |

The Gateshead win is pretty meaningless if we do not consolidate it with a win at home on Saturday. There seems to be a gulf opening up with the top 7 and the rest. With Oldham in ominous form we need to hope that FGR and York have poor runs of form to tighten things up. With our players rested and returning from injury we should not fear any side in the division especially if Kairo and Devante start banging goals in again. |

Decent first half. A little bit more control and there is an away win here as they look vulnerable at the back when pressured. Hopefully Kairo gets another good chance. |

Pitch update is helpful and optimistic. Hopefully the pitch will thaw but there is not a lot of time for the referee to make his decision. I have decided not to travel given the uncertainty and will rely on NLTV but the atmosphere will clearly not be the same. Even the Rose Bowl games back in the day had an edge to them. On the game I think we can get a positive result depending on which dale turns up. |

If our meandering and inconsistency continues much longer then it is likely that CO will run out of patience with our stop start performances. If he is promoting the club to business associates his credibility will increasingly be at stake both on and off the pitch! Cutting through the many constructive comments currently being made on here in relation to the 3 Year Plan, ultimately it is a results business and this is the number one priority. Together with an attractive style of play and goals it will attract increasing numbers to the COA. Unfortunately unless BJ shows greater flexibility and adaptability he will cut his own throat. He has signed good players but our tactical limitations are being exposed on a more regular basis by workmanlike outfits such as Wealdstone. The quality of his signings has been good but it does not look as if they are gelling quite as expected possibly due to numbers. There are also signs of frustration in the body language of some individuals. We are not too far away but desperately need a leader in the middle of the park as we are too nice to play against. Is the club really punching above its weight in budgetary terms? The next two games provide a valuable litmus test for where exactly we are if they are on. Given our inconsistency I expect a win and a loss but not necessarily in that order. The honeymoon period is well and truly over. |
| Forum Reply | Wealdstone match thread at 17:01 16 Nov 2024
Performance that was too predictable and lacking in quality. So few chances created but Wealdstone know how to defend. Really missing Kairo. I am beginning to doubt whether we can make the play offs now, and even if we do can we compete against teams in the top 7 who are in decent form. |
