Don't get too hung up on capacity. 3,500 is plenty big enough and a fairly typical size for entertainment venues around the country.
Its about striking the right balance, go bigger, and your limiting the use of the venue to a few times a month. Promoters also take on more risk with bigger venues, if they can't get a sell out, they're liable to bigger losses. This means less risky/diverse/niche acts and less performances over the course of the year. Swansea also doesn't really have the infrastructure for 20,000 people to descend onto the area all at once without causing disruption.
Finally, the LED lights on the façade will be decent. |

This is due to the fact our government hasn't phased in its full customs checks yet. Those customs procedures are hammering our exporters at the moment.
From 1 January, there will be checks on controlled substances, such as alcohol and tobacco, while standard goods, such as clothes and electronics, will be subject to basic customs procedures. But firms will have up to six months to complete customs declarations and pay relevant tariffs
From 1 April, those importing products of animal origin, including meat, milk or egg products, will have to pre-notify officials and provide the relevant health paperwork
By 1 July, all goods will be liable for relevant tariffs and customs declarations as well as full "safety and security" declarations. From this moment, there will be an increase in physical checks on livestock, plants and other sanitary and phytosanitary products at ports and other entry points |

There's 38 ferrys a day so its a quick turn around in departures.
70 seconds is an optimistic estimate with a seamless system up and running and operated by the EU. It doesn't include time for the previous lorry to move on and the line to move. It doesn't include an allowance for paper work being filled out incorrectly. This system doesn't yet exist and there's less than a 100 days to bring it into existence. You could in theory make this work, but with people being involved, it would only take a few truck drivers carrying the wrong paperwork to clog up the roads.
Looking at the Swiss / EU boarder who have been doing this for years and has less volume than Dover / Calais, and guess what, queues.
Yes they have cabs, what's your point? Lorry drivers add value to the economy when they're moving things around, not unnecessarily parked up for days on end in lorry parks. |

This is extra waiting in top of the waiting they already have to do. Unless you seriously think that Dover can turn the boarding area into a customs post?
Let’s make this simple for you, a ferry can carry 180 trucks. 70 seconds per truck means 3.5 hours of customs clearing per ferry. This assumes that customs agents check the next truck immediately after the previous one. In reality there will be a gap. This also assumes that each truck has the correct paper work, which is unlikely to be the case when carrying multiple consignment.
If you don’t think I understand the issue, how about listening to what Michael Gove says on the matter as he tries to deflect this into the hauliers for not adopting a new customs systems and practices that doesn’t get even exist.

It’s also no good comparing a container port with Dover which is a roll on roll off terminal. As you say at Felixstowe, the lorries drop off the containers then go away, leaving the containers for potentially days as they clear customs and load a container ship. That system will never work for Dover. Lorries don’t stack as easily as containers and there’s less space available. Lorry drivers need accommodation and pay, so you can have them hanging about for days either.
You need to wake up Felixstowe. |

Where did you get the idea from that the border in Switzerland is frictionless?
For trade it certainly isn't and its not uncommon for there to be miles of Lorry queues waiting to cross.
Its open to the regular person only because Switzerland is in the schengen area.
Its crazy that you don't know any of this considering its now been 4 years since you won the vote. |

WRONG. Even if we get the free trade deal we're pushing for with the EU, we'll still need a customs border between us and the EU.
Its also wrong to say that only the EU is insisting on a border, when taking control of our Borders was an upside of Brexit.
Looks like the county of Kent is gaining a border. |

Its mad that he's had plenty of time to prepare a written statement that has been carefully worded no doubt checked over by lawyers, yet he couldn't be bothered to check his credit card statement to jog his memory as to where he last fueled his card.

Don't see what the fuss is about. He's entitled to visit his parents to drop off supplies. So what if he packed a couple of folding chairs with him for the journey. Social distancing is respected.
What i don't like, is the way the police drop in like they're the east german stasi. The police have run with this "essential travel" interpretation and applying far more widely than the government. |

Remember its summer in New Zealand and Australia, and if this is to become a seasonal thing like, the flue, then we want to see low infection rates in these countries.
It would be very concerning for us if Aus and NZ had high infection / death rates as it would mean we wouldn't get much respite ourselves in the summer. |

Even without Corona virus getting in the way, our government will not be using this time productively and just wait until we get nearer deadline day for a bit of brinkmanship nonsense before either asking for an extension or giving into EU demands like we have done at every other deadline up until now. |

Assuming the CMO has a considered and correct approach for dealing with a virus outbreak long term, current hysteria with people almost deliberately misunderstanding their message, or just scoring political points against the PM, shows how hard it is to implement in practice. |
