Mackie 17:36 - Oct 28 with 3954 views | kingo | I am not his greatest fan, although I love his commitment. However, his run yesterday showed all the good and not so good parts of his game. He is very direct and powerful but he hasn't got the technique required at this level. The run yesterday was great and his finish was all he could really do after getting round the last man BUT if that had been virtually any other prem player, he would have gone down with the penultimate challenge. There was 'contact' as we get told by the pundits every week but he elected to stay on his feet rather than sprawl (like Vermalen) and gain an advantage. Admirable that he didn't go down but ultimately he gave the keeper the advantage.

Mackie on 18:39 - Oct 29 with 499 views | WestbourneR | Hang on anyone who is digging Mackie out for the quality of the shot is just being silly. Yeah it's a great shame he didn't tuck it away but he had made it there all by himself. Northern I have been frustrated with Mackie many times but I agree we could do with a few more like him. He wins over SWP every time. But how come no one is addressing my point that Mackie is actually very weak in the tackle and let Arshavin get past him very very easily. It could be said, as MH clearly thinks, that SWP might be a lot better in that department.

Mackie on 17:39 - Oct 29 by SonofNorfolt | & through the Reina's legs................ |
Ok I stand corrected, it's through Reina's legs. But why is it a bad finish? Reina comes out and narrows the angle. Mackie hits it cleanly on the half volley, keeps it low and it finishes in the bottom left hand corner. Don't understand why it's a bad finish? Or even the goal against Swansea? Strange.
