I think you are turning matters on their head. Why should Cruise or anyone else have to announce whether they are gay?
And are all the gay footballers who keep quiet 'lying'? The fact that *you* are so enlightened on this issue doesn't mean everyone else is. And the fact that some people don't feel able to tell the truth, is a reflection on society, not on them.
