Just having a read on the Green Signs thread, seems that most people on here have a genuine like for West Ham. I've always liked them as a club, in fact would go as far to say they are my second team(i understand that many people hate the idea of a second team)

They've got good fans and are one of the few London teams i actually don't mind, plus they despise Chelsea as much as we do.

Anyone got any other teams they actually like, be it for the style of football they play or their fans, or both.

I like West Ham for similar reasons above and my mate who is a die hard fan and loves his football took me to a game a while ago and always had a soft spot because of him. In turn he has been to LR a few times and is always on the lok out for our results.

Growing up in Tottenham and the like most of my mates are Arsenal or the Yids so dont mind them although find it harder to like Arsenal as they are so bloody pretentious and have a sense of entitlement. Also never been to a game where people 'clap' every goal scored rather than go mental and kiss a fat bloke they dont know like you're supposed to

Arsenal are the Coldplay of football.

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

There are teams I dislike less than others, teams i dislike then teams I hate.

I suppose you are asking about the first category:

Brentford are the little team down the road
Plymouth came up with us in 2005
I know quite a few AFC Wimbledon supporters

West ham are narer the hate thing - dislike their supporters, the ICF days were during my formative years. You can usually tell the West ham supporter in your organisation due to the close cropped hair, the barrel chest and when summer comes around the bad Hammers tattoo on his forearm...

Have to agree about a dislike for West Ham, owing to the numskulls that followed them in the 80's. Made home games against them uncomfortable as you always seemed to be surrounded by then on the terraces (similar to Scum). Away games were some of the best matches and atomspheres I have ever experienced, but the journey there and back was grim.

Soft spot for Peterborough as their fans are very welcoming to away supporters (also as a group of them were very kind to my son for his first away game at the age of 6)

It's a long time since I heard any of that sh1te when I've been around Evertonians. Certainly not a badge of pride amongst the fans as it once was...

Good to hear.

Qpr my only team to really care about results...

Look out for Fulham results funny enough, a very good friend was a fan and used to take me along for games in the early seventies, at a time when the dog was the only one wearing a scarf, now completely changed club but bear them no ill will.

Saw a bit of rugby league there as well, all conquering Aussie team of the day so kinda never really had that hatred you should have of local rivals.

Tranmere were also added to my list when we were playing them in 1st Division, listened to the craziest commentry for a midweek game there I think was abandoned, made me laugh so much I keep an eye out for there results.

No other club on my list, pathological hatred for the 'scum' now and forever.

Spurs, mainly because a lot of my mates are north Londoners who follow them.

Went to their Cup semi at Wembley last season as someone couldn't use their ticket. Worth it if only to be among 40,000 people hurling abuse at John Terry.

I'm tempted to type a chorus of "F*** em all, United West Ham Arsenal". I can't be doing with 2nd teams, but I have a soft spot for Blackpool dating back to the FA Cup replays against them. Norwich used to be OK but have got on my nerves this last year or so.

I never actually liked Southampton but I did like Matt Le Tissier, who virtually was a one man team.

I've always quite liked Arsenal. We won our semi there. I had the kit for Christmas as a seven-year-old. I always liked going to Highbury as a ground without fences, where you never felt anyone wanted to kill you, unlike Chelsea, West Ham and Spurs. I hated that walk up the Seven Sisters road, and once inside, they seemed unusually offended that anyone should cheer for another team in THEIR ground.

The other difference was that for years, Arsenal were so grim to watch you never envied the fans even when they won things, while Spurs fans had much better players to watch.

I like Brentford too. I used to go there for a cheap Saturday as a schoolboy with friends from Ealing. And they hate being patronised by us!

Hate West HAM. Living in Basildon have to put up wth a train full of them all the way to Barking when home games clash. You never see a shirt when they go down but as soon as they are up they are everywhere around here.
Especially annoying when we're away and they are home but Sainsburys is full of 'em on a Saturday afternoon. Often have a little dig under my breath as I walk past along the lines of " you've only got 20 minutes to get there mate "

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

I always want Londong teams to win -- when they aren't playing QPR. The obvious exception being scum -- whoc don't come from London, they come from the bowels of hell itself!!

I have a soft-spot for Plymouth Argyle ever since seeing their reserves beat our reserves 2-1 in about 1977-78, when we were first division and they were about division 4.

Arsenal - just because one of my best mates a season ticket holder there. Loves his Gooners, but has a soft spot for the R's and comes to Loftus Road with me a few times a year to see a proper ground. Man City for similar reasons, a good mate of mine always comes to see the R's with me when he is in London.

Used to follow Lyngby in Denmark because I previously lived next to their ground for a few years. Liked Odense as well having visited them a few times with work and met Bruce Rioch when he was managing there. Lovely ground and nice fans. Always kept an eye out for FC Copenhagen as well, again because I lived and worked near the stadium for quite a few years.

Only other team I keep an eye out for is Plymouth. Was born there, but left when I was a year old. Had a few mates who were "Janners" so saw them at Wembley in the playoffs against Darlington. Good bunch of fans.

Wet Spam. First game at Loftus Road I ever went to was with a couple of Spam mates. My first and last time with the away support at Loftus Road. Damn we were very intimidating to be on the receiving end of. No great soft spot for them, but no animosity either.

Despise Chelscum. Just hate them with a passion. I have perfectly reasonable mates who are fans and have been since way before the money came in. They were not arses, but so many of the other fans I met with them were and just met all of the sterotypes. Horrible club, horrible fans.

Never knowingly understood

Adelaide United the local team

In England soft spot for Crewe Alexandra and Southport, can remember back in the old 4th Div they were always trying to avoid re-election

Hate manure and pool and no they don't deserve capitals.

Rochdale - As above but one, never been outside the bottom two tiers.
Fleetwood Town - grew up watching them as my own town team. Just reached the FL for 1st time ever. Still got a programme from 1969 v Wigan in the Northern Prem. also met Kevin Gallen last season but one when they played Luton.
Millwall - Still got shares in them, seemed like a good idea at the time.
The original Wimbledon Crazy Gang. Beat Liverpool in Cup Final - Priceless
Thornton Cleveleys (West Lancs league). My son has played and captained them since u8's. Now in u18's and senior squad
Carlisle - remote, unsuccesful and we got Stan from them

Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean we're not all against you.

I keep an eye on Derbys results regularly but more so that I can give my mate a bit of grief when they lose!

I do have a soft spot for Brentford though

Hello, long time lurker, new poster...older brother of s1cranger BTW.....from Kent...favourite cheese a nice mature Normandy Camembert (sp)..

Thought I would leap on this thread, when we are playing a team I hate them utterly with a passion bordering on madness, if we beat them I have a soft spot for them for about a day....if they beat us the hate is stored deep down ready for next time we meet be it cup, league or even friendly...

Despise Chelsea particulary, ambivalent to Man u, Liverpool, Arsenal et al.

oh ...soft spot for Charlton...two good work friends who like them, and worked with a former player of theirs who took us to The Valley as his guest a few seasons back, lovely chap, we won one nil, Nygaard (I think) climbed all over their keeper, Rowlands penalty miss ? The memory is foggy these days....

Up the Rssss !!!!!!
